That stuff is crazy! We have some ivy like that covering the brick wall in our backyard. It seems to just keep spreading and spreading, season after season.My dad has to carefully trim it back so it doesn't overgrow and start cracking the bricks and mortar. But it is neat how ivy can just climb straight up a wall like that using its gripping little stems. Very determined plants, those ivies!The Giant BushesAt the front of our house are these really big, leafy bushes that have grown taller than me over the years. In the spring, they get covered in hundreds of tiny purple and white flowers that smell wonderful. My mom told me those flowering bushes are called lilacs.Once the lilac flowers bloomed and later fell off, the bushes just became big mounds of green leaves that provide a shady patch in our front yard all summer and fall. Every few years though, my dad has to trim them way back because they grow so fast and big.One time, I remember finding an abandoned bird's nest deep inside one of the overgrown lilac bushes.
