背诵经典英文文章:The Language of Music A painter hangs his or her finished pictures on a wall, and everyone can see it.A composer writes a work, but no one can hear it until it is performed.Professional singers and players have great responsibilities, for the composer is utterly dependent on them.A student of music needs as long and as arduous a training to becomea performer as a medical student needs to become a doctor. Most training is concerned with technique, for musicians have to have the muscularproficiency of an athlete or a ballet dancer. Singers practicebreathing every day, as their vocal chords would be inadequate without controlledmuscular support. String players practice moving the fingers of the left hand upand down, while drawing the bow to and fro with therigh armtwo entirely different movements.Singers and instruments have to be able to get every note perfectly in tune.Pianists are spared this particular anxiety, for the notes are already there, waiting for them, and it is the piano tuners responsibility to tune the instrument for them. But they have their own difficulties; the hammers that hit the string have to be coaxed notto sound like percussion, and each overlapping tone has to sound clear. This problem of getting clear texture is one that confronts student conductors:they have to learn to know every note of the music and how it should sound, and they have to aim at controlling these sound with fanatical but selfless authority.Technique is of no use unless it is combined with musical knowledge and understanding.Great artists are those who are so thoroughly at home in the language ofmusic that they can enjoy performing works written in any century.背诵经典英文文章:值得背诵的英语文章Archaeology is a source of history, not just a bumble auxiliary discipline. Archaeological data are historical documents in their own right, not mere illustrations to written texts, Just as much as any other historian, an archaeologist studies and tries to reconstitute the process that has created the human world in which we live - and us ourselves in so far as we are each creatures of our age and social environment. Archaeological data are all changes in the material world resulting from human action or, more succinctly, the fossilized results of human behavior. The sum total of these constitutes what may be called the archaeological record. This record exhibits certain peculiarities and deficiencies the consequences of which produce a rather superficial contrast between archaeological history and the more familiar kind based upon written records. Not all human behavior fossilizes. The words I utter andyou hear as vibrations in the air are certainly human changes in the material world and may be of great historical significance. Yet they leave no sort of trace in the archaeological records unless they are captured by a Dictaphone or written down by a clerk. The movement of troops on the battlefield may change the course of history, but this is equally ephemeral from the archaeologists standpoint. What are perhaps worse, most organic materials are perishable. Everything made of wood, hide, wool, linen, grass, hair, and similar materials will decay and vanish in dust in a few years or centuries, save under very exceptional conditions. In a relatively brief period the archaeological record is reduce to mere scraps of stone, bone, glass, metal, and earthenware. Still modern archaeology, by applying appropriate techniques and comparative methods, aided by a few lucky finds from peat-bogs, deserts, and frozen soils, is able to fill up a good deal of the gap.背诵经典英文文章:Five balls of life Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air.You name them work, family, friends, health and spirit and youre keeping all of these in the air.You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball.If you drop it,it will bounce back. But the other four balls family, health, friends and spirit are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for balance in your life,How?Dont undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others. It is because we are different and each of us is special.Dont set your goals by what other people deem important.Only you know what is best for you.Dont take for granted the things closest to your heart.Cling to them as they would be your life, for without them, life is meaningless.Dont let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past or for the future.By living your life one day at a time, you live All the days of your life.Dont give up when you still have somthing to give Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.Dont be afraid to admit that you are less than perfect. It is this fragile thread that binds us to each together.Dont be afraid to encounter risks. It is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave.Dont shut love out of your life by saying its impossible tofind.the quickest way to receive love is to give it;the fastest way to lose love is to hold it too tightly;and the best way to keep love is to give it wings.Dont run through life so fast that you forget not only where youve been, but also where you are going.Dont forget,a persons greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated.Dont be afraid to learn.Knowledge is weightless,a treasure you can always carry easily.Dont use time or words carelessly.Neither can be retrieved.Life is not a race, but a journey to be savored each step of the way.yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift:thats why we call it The Present.看过背诵经典英文文章的人还看了:1.经典英语美文背诵2.经典双语美文背诵3.经典晨读美文背诵4.经典美文背诵5.精选励志美文背诵。
