1) In recent years, much more attention than ever before has been paid to the children’s education. It is often said that studying history and literature could be more helpful in forming the kids’ character. However, from my own perspective, having the education of science and mathematics is better to develop children’s logics and it is more helpful when it comes to getting a job. Also the examples are multiple. To begin with, receiving the education of science and mathematics, children will get a better chance to nourish their logical thinking ability. For all those theories and methods applied in the subjects would provide them with the opportunity to think rationally. Thus they would turn to reasonable methods to solve the problem rather than just being panic or giving up whenever they encounter some difficulties. According to a investigation ran by some researchers in an American university, over 90% of the students who received more science and mathmatices courses would be more confident to handle the toubles than the students who took more history and literature courses in daily life. In terms of the substantive level, in China, given the severity of the phenomena that more and more students are taking their parents’ advice to take science and mathematical courses rather than the history and literature ones, it is simply because the students would have more choices to choose from for their career no matter in the school or somewhere else. Let alone nowadays in the workplace, more and more jobs are provided for those students of science. A survey implemented by the Ministry of Labor of China in 2010, more than 70% of applicants whose major is science and mathematics would finally get the job from the company. Last but not the least, in restropect of the human history, from as early as the invention of steam train to the recent iphone five, there is no doubt that science has make greater contribution to the world’s development rather than anything else. Hence there is no reason why we shouldn’t grab more knowledge of science and mathematics . All in all, people should have a better knowledge of science and mathematics for the their sakes as well as for a better development for the society. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Attending a live performance ( for example ,a play ,a concert ,or a sporting event ) is more enjoyable than watching the same event on television .
