作者故事
1931年，918事变爆发时，艾青正在发过留学。他同许多留法的 中国青年一样，在巴黎遭到歧视和侮辱。一天，艾青到一家旅馆 登记住宿时，旅馆人员问他的姓名，艾青说叫“蒋海澄”，对方 误听成“蒋介石”，便马上嚷嚷开了。艾青一气之下，就在“蒋” 的草字头下滑了一个“X”，又取“澄”的家乡谐音为“青”，在 住宿登记时填上“艾青”。于是艾青就这样成了他的笔名。
建国后出版的诗集有《欢呼集》《宝石的红星》《海岬上》《彩色的 诗》《域外集》《雪莲》《艾青诗选》等,艾青以其充满艺术个性的歌 唱成家，实践着他“朴素、单纯、集中、明快”的诗歌美学主张。

成书历程
1976年“西人帮”粉 碎后，艾青冤案平反， 再次焕发创作青春，写 作并发表了《鱼化石》 等优秀作品。
1979年诗人自己编定 《艾青诗选》，交人民 文学出版社初版。这部 诗选收录了诗人自三十 年代到七十年代末期的 主要作品，基本反映了 诗人的创作历程和风格 特征。

作者简介
艾青（1910-1996），原名蒋正涵，浙江 金华人，现代文学家、诗人。艾青1928 年中学毕业后考入国立杭州西湖艺术学院； 1933年第一次用笔名“艾青”发表长诗 《大堰河——我的保姆》；1932年加入 “中国左翼美术家联盟”，从事革命文艺 活动；1935年出版了第一本诗集《大堰 河》；1957年被错划为右派；1979年平 反后，任中国作家协会副主席等职； 1985年获法国文学艺术最高勋章；1996 年在北京病逝。

04 第二个创作高峰（1978年以后）
如《鱼化石》，写鱼化 石裹身岩层，重见天日，却 没有了活力，没有了叹息， 听不见浪花，看不见蓝天碧 水。诗人由此引发出对生命 本质的思考：“离开了运动 ，就没有生命。”
01 初期（1937年以前）的创作——忧郁与悲哀的笼罩
1933年，在狱中，艾青第一次以此为笔名创作《大堰河— —我的保姆》，抒发了对抚养她的保姆——大堰河深深的挚爱 和无尽的怀念，表达了对中国广大农民遭际的同情和关切。
