化学与化工学院
华中科技大学化学与化工学院设有化学系、化学工程与工艺系和应用化学系三个系，一个化学实验教学中心。同时设有无机与化学生物学、有机与精细化工、分析科学、物化与工业催化、材料与环境化学、高分子科学与工程、化学工程共7个研究所。现有专任教师93人，其中教授47名，副教授23名，研究员7名，副研究员7名。其中，国家优秀青年科学基金获得者1人，教育部新世纪人才9人，湖北省杰出青年基金获得者9人。
学院拥有化学、应用化学两个本科专业。拥有化学一级学科湖北省重点学科；化学一级学科博士、硕士授予权（理学）、材料物理与化学（工学）博士点。
学院建有大型电池关键材料与系统教育部重点实验室、生物无机化学与药物湖北省重点实验室和材料化学与服役失效湖北省重点实验室。化学实验教学中心为湖北省化学实验教学示范中心。
学院在读本科生总数保持在600人左右，研究生460人。另外，同济医学院临床医学八年制学生和重庆医科大学临床医学八年制新生每年约270人左右进入我院培养。
应用化学本科专业人才培养计划
Undergraduate Program for Specialty in Applied Chemistry
一、培养目标
Ⅰ．Program Objectives
本专业培养掌握扎实的化学基本理论、基本实验技能和现代实验技术；获得一定的工程基础知识和计算机基础知识的基本训练；熟悉本学科的现状、前沿及其在生产实践中的应用；能在教育、科研院所、公司和企业等部门从事化学及相关领域里的教学、科研、开发及管理等工作的高级科技人才。
This program covers the basic theories, experimental skills and techniques in chemistry. You will have a good understanding of the current situation and future prospect of chemistry and its application in production, as well as learning the basic knowledge about engineering and computers. Our aim is to bring out talents that meet the needs of companies, educational institutions, and research institutes in areas like medicines, materials and environment protection.
