如dng hl(dining hall)/mjr(major)/frnds(friends);只保留前几个字母,如info(information)/expo(exposition);保留开头和结尾发音字母(适用于一个音节的单词),如rm(room);根据发音“瘦身”,如u(you)/r(are)/4(for)/n8(night).

Sample Answer

Cultural lag is a period of transition time when people try to adjust to technology change. The professor takes the invention of telephone as an example to illustrate this concept. The invention of telephone made communication easier and faster. But till the end of 19th century, only business used telephones. Sample Response

The man’s problem is that the director to be interviewed is sick.

He could either wait till she feels better, or he could interview the actor instead of the director. Personally, I would suggest him to interview the lead-actor instead.

For one thing, the article would be done in time. If he waited till the director gets better, the article wouldn’t be done in time to go in this week’s paper. It’d make more sense to have the article come out before the play opens.

For another thing, the lead-actor will provide information from a different perspective. He will tell the man his understanding about the roles, the lines and the relationships between roles. These would be very interesting, too.

That’s why I suggest the man to interview the lead-actor instead.

@Do you agree or disagree with the following statement:

The only effective way to encourage energy conservation is increasing the price of gasoline and electricity.

合理性:提高价格,人们省电,绿色出行;

其他情况一:政府投资新能源;

Introduction:

Energy conservation is once again in the limelight all cross the globe.

Some environmentalists maintain that increasing the price of gasoline and electricity is the only effective way to realize the goal.

As much as I can relate to what’s intended in such and idea, I just don’t think it deserved to be called the only effective way.

First body paragraph

Sure, it is tempting to think this proposal could work like a charm.

By raising the price of electricity, the government is urging every household to cut down on energy consumption.

[细节一] When seeing utility bills go up, people would think twice in terms of electrical appliance, such as lights out during day time, choose fans over air conditioners during heat waves and keeping windows shut tight to keep windows shut tight to keep the heat in during cold months. [细节二]Quite similarly, with the rising cost of gasoline, consumers are more likely to walk, bike, carpool, or use mass transit.

Second body paragraph:

However, people are going to be gritting their teeth because normally nobody likes those high prices coming out of their wallets under this proposal.

Thus, alternatives that could serve the same purpose should be taken into consideration.

First, governments should invest in renewable and sustainable energy.

It is no secret that alternative fuel like solar energy is a ray of hope for the bright future

ahead.

Solar cars can run freely and abundantly without reliance on gasoline which is crucial to energy conservation.

At present, lots of research is being carried out to run the cars, but the funding problem still gets in the way, which explains ans still out of reach.

That’s where governments should step in and fill in the gap.

If governments could sponsor the program and make it affordable to the public, energy efficiency will be guaranteed.

In this way, energy conservation could be taken care of.

Third body paragraph:

Besides, a low carbon lifestyle should be encouraged. Business and governments have to take the lead.

They have to show that they have done everything they can, and then they can ask people to join the journey.

For example, eco-labeled companies tend to reduce waste, reuse and recycle components, and try to expand the product’s durability and recyclability.

And governments should educate the public about reducing the amount of waste by buying minimally packaged goods, choosing reusable products over disposable ones, and recycling.

[细节三] Also, they should be informed that traditional light bulbs have higher energy costs and lower lifespans. We should opt for LED alternatives that not only last longer but also cut energy consumption considerably.

Conclusion:

To sum up, it is not to say increasing prices of gasoline and electricity cannot motivate energy consumption, but its downsides can never be ignored. While other options are available, this proposal should by no means be considered the only way.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: The best way to travel is in a group led by a tour guide.

First body paragraph:

Admittedly, traveling in a group could help tourists avoid unwanted troubles during the trip.

You have people who will convince you to do crazy things you would never do by yourself, people to take care of you if you get sick and people to share your experiences and frustrations with.

Second body paragraph:

However, a guided tour also presents lack of freedom and tight schedules, which would considerably stifle the experience of traveling.

What is supposed to be the original intention for all tourists? The answer definitely lies in

relaxation. However, in most cases, the tour guide is acting like a shepherd, pushing a group of obedient tourists around in a hurry.

They don’t have enough time to enjoy the beautiful scenery during the journey or to fell totally relaxed.

Second body paragraph:

Normally, there are so many destinations included on the timetable that the tour guide seems to deal with errands mechanically. This hustled group is rushing from one crowed spot to another.

Even more, driven by personal profits, some tour guides may lead the group to certain shops and try their best to encourage spending.

It is hard to imagine what could be gained from such a busy and tiring traveling experience.

Third body paragraph:

In fact, there are more interesting and fashionable ways to travel besides joining a tourist group.

For instance, an individual could travel alone in a peaceful place.

Travel by yourself means you have to fend for yourself all the time.

Stepping outside of your comfort zone teaches you so much about yourself that you wouldn’t have otherwise learned.

What’s more, during your trip, eating and drinking alone presents an easy way to strike up a conversation with a local, who may end up to be your life-long friend.

And sometimes you may deviate from your plan, but it could lead to the most inspiring and interesting experiences, which could never be attained in a guided group.

Conclusion:

To sum up, although traveling in a group could provide with convenience.

Its downsides can never be ignored.

Thus it is superficial to say that the best method to travel is to join a guided tour.

@There is never good reason to be impolite to another person.

What is the purpose of the lecture? What does the professor imply when she says this? Why does the professor say this? What can be inferred from the student’s response? What is the professor’s opinion of …? What can be inferred about the student when he says this?

独立口语命题independent speaking task(类似于雅思口语第二部分的考察方式,给定问题单纯考speaking skill);2.综合口语命题integrated speaking task(根据阅读和听力的内容回答问题,是一种新型考试形式,考察学生阅读听力和口语等综合能力)。 Verbal and Nonverbal Communication When we speak with other people face-to-face, the nonverbal signals we give—our facial expressions, hand gestures, body movements, and tone of voice—often communicate as mush as, or more than, the words we utter. When our nonverbal signals, which we often produce unconsciously, agree with our verbal message, the verbal message is enhanced and supported, made more convincing. But when they conflict with the verbal message, we maybe communicating an entirely different and more accurate message than what we intend. Nonverbal & verbal message in face-to-face talk

1. Unlike her husband, Alice believes that it is useless to subscribe to more than one news- magazine. 2. The medicine made him drowsy so he wasn’t able to drive while taking it.

例如,listen to a conversation between a professor and student in a professor and student. Friends of the Earth, Biology class。 First ……, lets look at the ……, Now, Lets move on to ……, in the nest part of lecture ,I d like to talk about …… 3.

Scientists have learned some interesting things about the intellectual abilities of babies. They say there is evidence that babies as young as five month old can do basic arithmetic: that they can add. (Barron P75): Definition ★Description and example ★★Classification ★Sequence ★★★Comparision and contrast ★★Cause and effect ★★Problem a nd solution Persuation and evaluation

1 Skill 6:Example Listening Skill 6 Listen as two students discuss campus parking.

Note-taking in the Independent Task If you could have any job in the world, what would it be? Use details to support your. response;另一类是选择类问题(Paired-choice Response),如:Do you like to try new kinds of food or eat the same kind of food all the time? Use details and examples to support your response,准备时间为15秒,回答问题时间为45秒。 Question: Where would you want to be professionally in ten years? Use details to support your response. Topic statement: own bus... (I would like to own my own business) Supporting ideas: ( How I will work toward owning my business) * master (Will get master's in business ) * work com... (Will work in company while planning my business) * start (Will start my own business when I am ready) Transitions: 10 next because 3 within 10 y (可用y代替years) Sample Answer In ten years I would like to win an import business of my own. Next year, I will be starting a master's program in business with a specialization in entrepre neurship. I will be getting this degree because I hope to start my own busines s and make it successful some day. After I finish my master's degree three ye ars from now, I will most likely take a position in another company for a few years to make some money and to spend some time planning my own busine ss. Within ten years, I hope to own my own company and be on the way to making it a success.
