Interpretation
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen!
My name is , I’m from . Today, my topic is unit 3 Computers. I will
share it with you for four parts. First, analysis of teaching material. After, analysis of
students. Next, analysis of teaching methods and learning methods. At last, I will
analysis of the teaching procedure.
First, I will analysis of the teaching material. The content of my lesson is Senior
high English for China Book2 Unit3. This unit is about computers. And this is a
reading lesson and talks about The Sporting Robot. By studying of this lesson, I’ll
enable students to know the record of the sporting robot and develop the interest in
the robot. The teaching aim includs three parts. First, knowledge aim: students should
master the useful new words and expressions, such as “ performance, programmer,
parachute, fragile, take part in, instead of”. Second, ability aims: enable students to
learn different reading skills. Third, moral aim: develop students’ sense of cooperative
learning. The important points are enable students to understand this passage and let
students learn different reading skills. The difficult point is students should know how
to use the different reading skills.
Second, I will analysis of students. As we all know, the senior high school’s
students have strong curious, they have some abilities of gaining information,
handling information and analysis of information.
Third, I will analysis of teaching methods and learning methods. I will use the
following methods to teach this lesson: pre-while-post reading, Task-based Language
Teaching, Communicative Approach. Students can via cooperation with each other,
experience, exchange and independently methods to learn.
At last, I will analysis of teaching procedure. It has five steps. First, lead-in, this
part is watching the video about robot. The purpose of my design is to catch students’
attention about the passage and to develop interest in the robot. Second, pre-reading.
There are two tasks. Task one is group work, let students talk about how many kinds
of robot they know and their opinions of the robot. Task two is class work, let students
talk about their opinions of the sporting robot. The purpose of my design is to make
students know something about the sporting robot. It can help students to have a
better understanding about the passage. Third , while-reading, it has three tasks. Task
one is skimming. It is a individual work. Students should read the material fast to find
out the main idea for this passage. After, students should read the material fast to find
out the main idea for each paragraph. Task two is asked students to find out the
supporting idea. Task three is scanning. I will ask students to read the material
carefully and find out the correct answers to finish the following chart by themselves.

The purpose of my design is enable students to understand the given material
better by using different reading skills. Fourth, post-reading, students retell the
passage in their own words according to the chart. After, do a group work, students
discuss the question with other group members and then choose a reporter to share
their opinions with the whole class. The question as follow:“You have been lucky
enough to be allowed to interview Hua Fei in hospital for your school mewspaper.
Work out some questions for your interview.” I think if the students can finish this
task well, they will benefit a lot in their spoken English. Most students can take part in
the activity, especially for the students who have trouble in English study. At last,
homework. I will ask students to find information of robot which they like very much,
then, write a small passage to introduce it. I want to check whether the students
master introduction of one thing according to the homework.
