I really wish we could wear whatever we wanted, but those are the rules.Once I was all ready, I went downstairs for breakfast. My mom had made my favorite - pancakes! She's the best cook ever.I drowned them in maple syrup and ate them so fast. I didn't want to be late for the bus.The bus stop is just down the street from my house, so I said bye to my mom and little sister and walked over there. A bunch of my friends from the neighborhood were already there waiting. We talked and joked around until the bus arrived at 7:20. I got a seat near the back with my best friend Jessica.We got to school right at 7:45 and headed to our lockers to get our books for first period. My locker is such a mess with books and papers shoved everywhere! First period was math class which I'm not too bad at, but it's just so boring. Ms. Johnson droned on and on about algebra. Why do we need to learn that stuff anyway?After math was English, which is one of my favorite classes. We're reading this awesome book called "The Outsiders" about these tough kids growing up rough on the streets. Our teacher Mrs. Robertson had us act out some of the scenes which was really fun. I got to play the part of Dallas which is the toughest, coolest guy in the whole book!Then it was time for probably my least favorite class - science with Mr. Patel. He made us watch this totally lame video about the human digestive system. I almost fell asleep it was so dull. Finally the bell rang for lunch at 11:30 and I booked it out of there!Lunchtime is the best part of the school day for sure. I met up with my crew and we all got in the hot lunch line together. Thanks to my mom packing my lunch every day, I don't have to wait in those crazy long lines. We snagged the best table right in the middle of the cafeteria where we could see and be seen by everybody.Jessica and I gossiped about which boys were cute while we ate our sandwiches, chips, cookies and drank our Capri Suns. I felt kind of bad for making fun of Timmy Robertson though when he walked by our table all by himself. He's such a nerd and gets picked on a lot, but maybe I shouldn't be so mean.After lunch was history class which is okay I guess. We've been learning all about World War 2 lately which is pretty interesting with all the crazy battles and stuff that happened. For our homework assignment, we had to pretend we were soldiers and write journal entries about being in the war. That's kind of a cool project actually.My last class of the day was P.E. which I live for! We've been doing basketball units and playing lots of awesome games. I'm one of the tallest kids in my class so basketball is my absolute favorite sport. Coach Johnson put me at center and I scored like 20 points for my team. We killed the other team!Finally, school was over at 3:00pm and I hopped on the bus to head home. Once I got inside, I plopped down on the couch and just chilled for a little while. Then it was time to start my homework. I knocked out the easy math worksheets first to get them out of the way. The English reading questions took a while but writing that history journal was kind of fun.Around 5:30, my dad got home from work at his construction job. He looked exhausted as always. While my mom started making dinner, I went outside and played some basketball by myself for a little bit. Dinner was my mom's famous spaghetti and meatballs which I love. We ate together as a family and I told them all about my day.After dinner, I took a shower and then it was free time until bedtime at 9:00. I spent most of that time on my phone scrolling through Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok. What can I say, I'm addicted just like everyone else my age these days! I also played a few rounds of Fortnite and Call of Duty with the guys online.Once 9:00 rolled around, I got ready for bed, brushed my teeth and hit the hay. I was exhausted after such a long, eventful day. As I lay there in the dark, I thought about how good it felt to be done with the school day and looked forward to sleeping in on Saturday morning.Well, that's a pretty typical day in the life for me as a 7th grader! I know it's not the most thrilling day ever, but considering I spend most of my waking hours at school, that's just kind of how it goes. I'm counting down the days until summer vacation when I'm free for 3 whole months. No teachers, no homework, no routines - just beaches, water parks, movies, video games and hanging out with friends all day every day! Ahh I can't wait for that sweet freedom. Anyway, that's my day from start to finish. Hopefully you didn't fall asleep halfway through listening to me ramble on and on!
