Step1 Leading-in

Do you like music?I think everyone likes music.Now let’s enjoy some pieces of music. Step2 Presentation

Play a piece of music.Then ask the students:Do you like the music?What do you think of

it?Help the students to answer it.Then say , I like music that I can dance to.

In this way,play some other kinds of music for the students and let them try to say “I

like/prefer music that has great lyrics,…that I can sing along with,…that isn’t too loud, …”. Tell the students prefer means like …better.

(过渡:We have learned many kinds of music.I think you like different kinds of music.Now lets work in pairs.Talk about the music that you like.)

Let the students work in pairs according to the pictures like this:

A: What kind of music do you like ?

B:I like music that I can dance to. What kind of music do you like?

A:…

Then ask and answer like this:

A: What kind of singers do you like ?

B:I like singers who/that…. What kind of singers do you like?

A:…

Check some pairs.

Step4.Listening

1.Say, we will hear Tony and Betty talking about the kinds of music each one likes.

Let’s see the instructions in 1b first. Read the instructions to the students. Tell them to tick (√) the right statements while they are listening. Read the three headings before playing the tape.

Play the tape the first time and the students only listen. Then play it for a second time. The students tick in the right answer boxes.
