一是海南正在建设国际旅游岛，已建成高尔夫球场26个，还有一批高尔夫、游艇、 房车项目正在规划设计之中,将成为旅游装备的巨大市场。

2008年4月，中国国家主席胡锦涛先生视察洋浦，提出了：“要积极参与中国—东 盟自由贸易区建设和环北部湾的经济合作，以洋浦经济开发区为龙头，努力打造 面向东南亚的航运枢纽、物流中心和出口加工基地。”的发展目标。 President Hu Jintao visited Yangpu in April, 2008 and brought up the development goal of YEDZ: strive to develop into a shipping hub, logistics center and export-processing base facing Southeast Asia.
洋浦已建成码头泊位22个，万吨级以上泊位14个，其中30万吨级原油码头1个。 Yangpu have built 22 berths, of which 14 are above 10,000 dwt and one 300,000 dwt for crude oil.
开通了13条以洋浦为中心的内外贸航线。今年，开发区管委会下属的海南泛洋航 运有限公司开通了美西、澳洲航线 。 We’ve opened 13 domestic and international shipping lines centered by Yangpu. Hainan Pan-Ocean Shipping Co., Ltd, directly under the Development Zone Administrative Committee has launched an shipping line from Yangpu to the west coast of America，Australia this year.
