1.论者的论证不能充分说明开一家专营海鲜食品的餐馆是有利可图的。

首先，30%的海鲜消费增长并不能说明海鲜食物的市场变得很大，如果五年前海鲜消费在B城处于一个很低的水平。

也可能B城在这五年间餐饮业发展迅速，各类菜品消费都有很大增长，那么海鲜类的增长也许是不值一提的。

2.论者说没有专营海鲜的餐馆，由此断定开一家专营餐馆是赚钱的。

这样的推断也是缺乏依据的。

没有专营海鲜的餐馆可能是由于当地海鲜产品及时供应困难，运输和存储海产品的成本高，当地气候不宜经常食用海鲜等。

如果有这些不利因素的存在，那么开专营的海鲜店是有很大风险的。

3.关于two-income的问题，论者提到的全国统计数据对于一个城市的具体情况来说毫无意义。

即使这些家庭要选择外出吃饭，又有多少人会选择吃海鲜呢？论者未给出具体论证。

如果这些家庭more concern about health eating，那么在这些家庭看来，海鲜食品是否是健康视频呢？论者也没有给出证明。

In this argument, the author concludes that the new Caption Seafood restaurant that specializes in seafood should be popular and profitable. To strengthen this conclusion, the author provides a statistic that seafood dishes in Bay City restaurants has increased by 30 percent during the past five years while there is no restaurans whose specialty is seafood. The author also cites that a national study about that two-income families eat fewer home-cooked meals than before and they concerned more about healthful eating. At first glance, the argument is somehow resasonable, but close scrutiny reveals that it contains several assumptions and is therefore unpersuasive.
First of all, the increment of 30 percent are unable to prove that there is a bigger seafood market in Bay City. It is possible that consumption in restaurants has increased far over 30 percent during the past five years. In this case, the incerment of 30 percent is not worthy to mentioning.
Second, the author mentions two phenomenon about the real condition in Bay City. The first one is that there is no special seafood reatauranr in Bay City, and the other one is that the new Caption Seafood restaurant are capable to be profitable. The author convinced that the former is the cause of the latter, which might be the case. We have to concentrate more about the reason why there is no special seafood reataurant in Bay City instead of the superficial phenomenon. That might be that。

在新GRE Argument的茫茫174道题库当中，出现了一类前所未有的instruction （我们姑且称之为“Alternative explanation类”）：Write a response in which you discuss one or more alternativeexplanations that could rival the proposed explanation and explain how your explanation(s) can plausibly account for the facts presented in the argument.意译过来就是：针对题目中给描绘的现象，请提出一种或更多的理论假说（这些假说能够和作者给出的理论相抗衡），并阐明它们如何能解释题中的现象。

虽然这类型instruction的数目不多，仅为10道，但却非常值得重视。

究其原因还是它们需要用一种全新的、不同于老G挑错找茬的视角和思维方式。

我们在后面会以新Argument中最难的题目之一——Argument 2为例，给出我们的范文，借此跟大家探讨一下这类instruction的理解和处理方法。

首先我们把这类instruction的核心思想和老G的思维方式，以及上一次提到的evaluate类的视角做个比较。
