留学生来到我的学校,我提一些生活建议对每一个海外留学的中国学生来说，适应大学生活都是逐步的过程。

大一新生可能会经历想家、在校园里迷路、与室友发生冲突，或在与小组项目成员相处过程中并不愉快等一系列问题。

对此，美新周刊综合了多位学生生活专家的建议，提醒新生进入大学校园后，应避免以下八个社交和学习方面的错误：01选择立即住在校外许多学院和大学要求学生至少在第一年住在校园里。

教育专家表示，即使你可以选择校外住宿，住在校园里也是更为明智的做法。

根据2021年国际高校房屋协会(ACUHO-I)报告，住在校园里可以提高新生保留率和参与度。

招生咨询公司DC College Counseling的创始人科琳·帕帕雷拉(Colleen Paparella)，也对与高中好友住在一起的做法提出警告。

留学美国托福不再重要？ ⽇前有媒体报道称：越来越多的美国⼤学意识到，中国的⾼中⽣很难在参加⾼考之前参加托福和雅思考试，⽽如果参加⾼考以后再参加语⾔考试，学⽣则会错过当年⼊学的机会，需要再等待⼀年时间。

这显然对中国学⽣很不公平。

⽽⽬前，绝⼤部分的美国⼤学都提供英语课程和⼤学本科的双录取，没有语⾔成绩的学⽣⼊学后要进⾏书⾯的语⾔测试，确实没有达到相关语⾔要求的学⽣可以在本校的语⾔培训中⼼就读２个⽉⾄６个⽉的ESL强化课程，之后就能直接攻读学⼠或硕⼠学位了。

该报道还说，美中教育基⾦会的Mr.Sail Ye⽇前表⽰，像密歇根理⼯⼤学、密西西⽐⼤学、加州州⽴⼤学等最为看重的是学⽣的综合素质，相⽐之下，学⽣的语⾔成绩并不是最重要的，因为英语毕竟是⼯具，在实际⼯作、学习过程中能够得到迅速提⾼。

报道刊出后，有不少读者致电本报，咨询报道内容是否意味着今后去美国留学，托福成绩不再重要，只要其他课程成绩好，语⾔可以出国后再提⾼？对此本报记者第⼀时间内采访了相关专家。

「记者调查」 专家质疑托福看淡说 专家张洪伟认为，留学美国托福成绩看淡的说法不恰当、也是不真实的。

“虽然不是最终的决定因素，但是在留美的⾼校申请过程中，⼀个⾼分的新托福成绩对学⽣来说仍然举⾜轻重。

”泰德时代集团教学与品牌推⼴部总监刘兰说。

张洪伟分析，美国⼤学是很看重TOFEL成绩的，托福成绩是衡量学⽣是否能够顺利⽤英⽂完成学习的⼀个标准。

例如从TOFEL考试的结构来看，听⼒能够反应你上课能否听懂，说则看你能否具备基本交流的能⼒，读是学⽣学习的最基本保障，写决定你能否⽤语⾔表达你的思想。

所以，⼤多数美国⼤学录取国际学⽣时要求学⽣必须提交托福成绩，不论学⽣申请的是什么专业、什么学位项⽬。

刘兰分析说，由于新托福对考⽣的要求是实⼒的要求，不再拘泥于⽂法结构，⽽是从商务、教育、⼈⽂、⼯程、⾃然科学和社会研究等6⼤学科上的全⾯考核，话题的难度和⼤学⽣在校园⽣活中所遇到的各种语⾔环境相当。
