In addition, JD EdwardsEnterpriseOne may integrate, interface, or work in conjunction with other Oracleproducts. Refer to the following link for cross-reference material in the ProgramDocumentation for Program prerequisites and version cross-reference documents toassure compatibility of various Oracle products./corporate/contracts/index.htmlAccess the current Minimum Technical Requirements (MTR) for the JD EdwardsEnterpriseOne 9.00 client from Metalink3:https:///od/faces/secure/km/DocumentDisplay.jspx?id=705409.1. Additional Considerations1.Be sure the MTRs are met before starting the Standalone Client installation.2.The Standalone Client does not support Internet Explorer 7.3.The Standalone Client does not support Windows Server 2003 or Vista—onlyWindows XP.4.JDK 1.5 is required. JDK 1.6 and higher have not been validated withEnterpriseOne as of November, 2008.5.Microsoft Visual Studio is not required unless you are building businessfunctions. The installation of the Standalone Client installs the Microsoft librariesthat are necessary to run EnterpriseOne, but if you plan to build businessfunctions, you will need the compiler and additional libraries that Visual Studioprovides.6.Verify that all previous releases of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne have beencompletely uninstalled or saved via Snapshot before installing the EnterpriseOne9.00 Standalone client.Prerequisites 7.EnterpriseOne 9.00 Standalone Client does not require Software Protection Codes(SPCs) to run so you will not need to perform the steps for applying SPCs that previous EnterpriseOne releases required.Downloading the 9.00 Standalone Client from the OracleE-Delivery WebsiteComplete the instructions in this chapter if you are downloading the EnterpriseOne 9.00 Standalone client software from the Oracle E-Delivery web site(). If you are installing the EnterpriseOne 9.00 Standaloneclient from DVD or a network share location, skip to the following chapter: Installing the Required JDBC Database Driver (SSE Local Database Only).►To download the 9.00 standalone client from the Oracle E-Delivery website1. On your client machine, create a temporary local folder called:\Standalone_9.002. Open the E-Delivery web site, and enter the following values in the dropdown boxes:•Select a Product Pack: JD Edwards EnterpriseOne•Platform: Microsoft Windows (32 bit)3. Click Go to display the results.4. In the result grid, select the row with this description:JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0 Applications/8.98 Tools Media Pack for Microsoft Windows (32-bit)5.Click Continue.6.Locate the item with the description for the version of the Standalone Clientwith your desired local database, where “Microsoft Local Database” is SQL Server 2005 Express Edition (SSE) and “Oracle Local Database” is Oracle Enterprise Edition (OEE):•JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0 Standalone-Microsoft Local Database•JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0 Language Standalone-Microsoft Local Database•JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0 Standalone-Oracle LocalDatabase•JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0 Language Standalone-Oracle Local DatabaseIf “Language” is not specified in the description, the language of theStandalone Client is English. If you are installing the OEE version of the JDEdwards EnterpriseOne 9.00 Standalone Client, all files necessary to perform the installation now reside in the temporary folder (in this example,Standalone_9.00).SSE Local Database. If you are installing the SSE version, you will need to download the SSE drivers and put them into the proper location under this temporary folder (e.g., Standalone_9.00). Follow the instructions in the next section Installing the Required JDBC Database Driver (SSE LocalDatabase Only).Installing the Required JDBC Database Driver (SSE Local Database Only)Note: SSE Local Database. The procedures in this chapter are applicable only if you are using SSE as the local database on your Standalone Client.Note: Oracle Local Database. If you are using Oracle as the local database, the Oracle database drivers are included on the installation DVD for JD EdwardsEnterpriseOne. Skip this chapter. If you are using SSE as your local database on the Standalone Client, you MUST have a local copy of the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.00 Standalone Client installer and thendownload the appropriate JDBC driver from Microsoft before installing the Standalone Client. To complete this task, follow the steps in this chapter. Check with Microsoft for licensing requirements before downloading their SSE database drivers.►To install the required JDBC drivers1. If you have a JD Edwards EnterpriseOne installation DVD (as opposed todownloading from the E-Delivery web site), do the following:a.On your client machine, create a temporary local folder called:\Standalone_9.00b.Copy the contents of the DVD to this temporary folder.2. In the location to which you copied the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne installationDVD or the installation download (e.g., c:\Standalone_9.00), create thisdirectory:c:\Standalone_9.00\ThirdParty\WebDevFeature\JDBC3. On the client workstation, create a directory called \JDBC to use whendownloading the required drivers. For example:C:\TEMP\JDBC4. To obtain the JDBC drivers from Microsoft, navigate to this website:/downloads5. On Microsoft’s Download Center, scroll to the Download Categories andclick the Drivers link.6. On the Drivers site, locate the link for the latest release of the SQL Server2005 JDBC Driver.7. Click the Download button for the selected driver and save it in the \JDBCdirectory that you created in step 3, and click Save.8. Navigate to the c:\Temp\JDBC directory and double-click the executablefor the driver that you downloaded.9. Click Run, and then click Next.10. Click Browse and select this directory:c:\Temp\JDBC21. Click Unzip.12. Click OK.13. Navigate to this directory:c:\Temp\JDBC\sqljdbc_1.1\enu14. Copy the sqljdbc.jar file to this directory:c:\Standalone_9.00\ThirdParty\WebDevFeature\JDBCInstalling the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.00 Standalone ClientBefore you install the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.00 Standalone Client, verify that your system meets the Minimum Technical Requirements. From the copy of the DVD that was created when you extracted the zip files in thechapter of this guide entitled: Downloading the 9.00 Standalone Client from the Oracle, use the instructions in this chapter to install the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.00Standalone Client. Also, be sure to install the requisite JDBC drivers using theinstructions in the section of this guide entitled: Installing the Required JDBC Database Driver (SSE Local Database Only).Notes:For the following instructions, it is assumed that the folder where you copied the JDEdwards EnterpriseOne installation download or DVD (in the section entitledDownloading the 9.00 Standalone Client from the Oracle E-Delivery Website) is thisdirectory:c:\Standalone_9.00As is the case with all installations on Microsoft Windows machines, in order to run the installer for the Standalone client, you must be logged on as a user with Adminstratorrights.►To install the standalone client1. Launch InstallManager.exe from the root of the DVD folder, or if youdownloaded the software from the Oracle E-Delivery site, launch the file from the Standalone_9.00 folder.Note: Due to the maximum SSE database size restrictions, the SSE non-English versions of the Standalone Client were broken up into threedifferent installations. In this case, the InstallManager screen will lookdifferent, and you will need to follow slightly different steps. Pleasesee the instructions in the section Installing the JD EdwardsEnterpriseOne 9.00 Languages Standalone Client for SSE . When youfinish those instructions, continue with step 3 below.2. On JD Edwards Install Manager, click the link for EnterpriseOne E900.3. On Client Workstation Setup, click Next.language and click Next to accept the license agreement.5. On Client Workstation Setup Package Selection, select DEMO and clickNext.6. On Client Workstation Setup Third Party Application:Oracle Local Database. If you are using the Oracle local database version of the Standalone Client and the local Oracle database software has not already been installed, the above screen is displayed.SSE Local Database. If you are using the SSE local database version of the Standalone Client and the local SSE database software has not already been installed, a screen similar to the above screen is displayed, where ORACLE is replaced with SSE.7. On Client Workstation Setup Type, select Development and click Finish.8. If either the Oracle or SSE local database software has not already beeninstalled, the Standalone Client installer will install it now.Notes:Oracle Local Database. If you receive the following error, you will need to exit the installer, create the folder <installation_drive>:\Oracle\E1Local, and rerun the installer:Client Workstation Setup: Setup cannot install the Oracledatabase because the copy of Oracle DB files from'<drive>:\ThirdParty\ORACLE\*' to'<installation_drive>:\Oracle\E1Local\' failed.Reason: The handle is invalid."Oracle Local Database. When the Oracle local database installation iscomplete, you are prompted to reboot the machine. After the reboot, repeat the above steps to restart the install process. There may be long periods during which the status bar does not change. This is a normal part of the installation process.9. At this point the installer may display a message regarding a missingtnsnames.ora file as shown in the screen above. If you are installing the SSE version of the Standalone Client, you can ignore the message and click Next. If you are installing the OEE version of the Standalone Client, follow the instructions on the screen and click Next.10.If you are installing the SSE local database version of the Standalone Client, you could get the error shown above if you did not follow the instructions inthe section Installing the Required JDBC Database Driver (SSE LocalDatabase Only). If you do get this error, do the following:plete the installation of the Standalone Client.b.When the installation is through, complete the steps in the sectionInstalling the Required JDBC Database Driver (SSE Local DatabaseOnly).c.Run the EnterpriseOne H4A installer called:c:\Standalone_9.00\ThirdParty\WebDevFeature\OH4A1013_setup.exe11.Click Next on the message regarding the Java compiler installation. You will manually install the required JDK after the Standalone Client’s installer completes.12.Click OK to finish the installation of the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.00Standalone Client.13.Examine the c:\jdeinst.log file and address any errors that you find. You canignore the following benign errors:•AddWorkstationInfoFile(): Directory permissions on'\package_inf\feature_inf\VS2005RTL_1.INF' are invalid.•AddWorkstationInfoFile(): Directory permissions on'\Package_inf\Feature_inf\WebDevelF_1.inf' are invalid.14.Perform the tasks in the section Post Installation Tasks.Installing the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.00 Languages Standalone Client for SSEThis section applies only to installing the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.00 LanguagesStandalone Client running against a local Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition (SSE) database. The English-only versions and the multiple language versions using the local Oracle database follow the normal installation steps in the section Installing the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.00 Standalone Client. The spec databases for the multiple language version of the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne E900 Standalone Client running against a local SSE database required splitting intomultiple installation files. These files were grouped based on an arbitrary grouping oflanguages.►To install the multiple language Standalone Client for SSE1.When you run InstallManager.exe for the SSE version of the multiplelanguage Standalone Client installer, you will see the following screen:2.Select the option (A, B, or C) in which your language resides. The specdatabase for the corresponding option will be installed on this machine along with the EnterpriseOne Standalone Client. Note that because each option contains multiple languages, all of those languages in the option that you select will be available at run time. You can select the language to use by changing the user’s preferences from within EnterpriseOne.3.Continue with the rest of the installation instructions in the sectionInstalling the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.00 Standalone Client. Note: If you later need to change the group of languages to use, use Snapshot.exe to save off the existing Standalone Client installation, rerun the InstallManager.exe, select the desired language option, and finish the installation.Post Installation TasksAfter installing the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.00 Standalone client, you must perform the following post installation tasks:•Updating the tnsnames.ora file (Oracle Local Database Only)•Installing the Required JDKNote: The JDK may be downloaded directly from Sun Microsystems. Updating the tnsnames.ora file (Oracle Local Database Only) Note: This process is applicable only if you are using Oracle as the local database on your Standalone Client and this machine is used to connect to other Oracledatabases (i.e., those that were not installed as part of the JD EdwardsEnterpriseOne Standalone Client installation). The Oracle local database that is installed with the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Standalone Client is called E1Local. It has its own copy of the tnsnames.ora file which is used to define how a connection to the database is made (e.g., port number, SID).If you have other Oracle databases installed on this machine or access remote Oracledatabases, other tnsnames.ora files will define those connection parameters.Unfortunately, the tnsnames.ora for the last installed Oracle database is used by any software running on your local machine to access all the Oracle databases. Because theE1Local database should have been installed during the installation of the EnterpriseOne Standalone Client, it should be the last database installed; therefore, the E1Local’stnsnames.ora file needs to be updated with the database connection information that is stored in the other tnsnames.ora files on your machine. Follow these steps toupdate the newly installed Oracle local database’s tnsnames.ora .►To update the tnsnames.ora file1. Edit the new tnsnames.ora file located in this directory:C:\Oracle\E1Local\NETWORK\ADMIN\tnsnames.ora2. Edit the tnsnames.ora files on your machine for any other Oracledatabases that you may access (whether remote or local databases). These tnsnames.ora files will be located in the NETWORK\ADMIN directory under the Oracle database clients’ installation directories (e.g.,c:\Apps\db\oracle102\NETWORK\ADMIN\tnsnames.ora).3. Copy the contents of these other tnsnames.ora files to the end of the newJD Edwards EnterpriseOne local version of the file.Installing the Required JDKYou must install a supported Java Development Kit (JDK) in order to support thestandard configuration that relies on a standalone version the Oracle Application Server that is delivered by the Standalone client installation. The JDK must reside in a directory on the Standalone client. To complete this task, you must obtain the required JDK from SUN Microsystems andinstall it on the Standalone client machine. Refer to the Minimum TechnicalRequirements in the section Clients > Development Clients > OC4J 10g Standalone, to determine the correct JDK required for this installation.Note: It is strongly advised that the machine on which you are installing has networkconnectivity during this JDK installation, as updates and libraries may be required from the Sun site as the installation proceeds. If the machine does not have networkconnectivity, the installer may appear to complete normally but the complete directorystructure required for Standalone client may not be present.► To install the required JDK1. On the Standalone client, create two JDK directories in these paths:c:\Temp\JDKc:\E900\system\JDK2. Navigate to this Sun Microsystems website:/javase/downloads/index.jspOn the displayed web page, locate the JDK version specified in the MinimumTechnical Requirements for the JD Edwards Standalone Client. If the currentrelease of the JDK version is greater than that specified by the MTRs, youmay need to drill down further on the Sun web site. For example, from themain index there may be a tab or a link for Previous Releases of the JDK.3. Once the requisite JDK has been located, click the download button, reviewthe license agreement and if you choose to accept, select the Accept option toaccept the license agreement.4. On Save As, navigate to a temporary directory on your local drive (forexample, c:\Temp) and click Save.5. The program downloads the JDK self-extracting executable to the temporarydirectory.Note: Do not download the .exe file of the JDK into the JDK directory that you created in Step 1. The reason is because when youextract this file, the file cannot exist in the same directory intowhich the extraction occurs.6. From Microsoft Windows Explorer, navigate to the temporary directory fromStep 4, highlight the downloaded executable, and double click the executable program to run it.7. If you receive a security warning, select Run.8. Review the Sun license agreement, and if you accept, select the Accept optionand click Next.9. On the Java 2 SDK InstallShield Wizard, use the browse function to change tothis directory that you created in step 1:c:\Temp\JDKNote: Do not select the same folder where the install executable islocated; the installation destination folder must be different.10. Accept all other default values and click Next.11. Deselect all Browser Registration options.12. Click Install. The installation process takes several minutes.13. When the process is complete click Finish.14. Navigate to this directory:C:\Temp\JDKPost Installation Tasks15. Highlight these sub-folders:•bin•include•jre•lib16. From the Edit menu, select Copy.17. Navigate to this folder that you created in Step 1:C:\E900\system\JDK18. From the Edit menu, select Paste.Starting EnterpriseOne Standalone► To start EnterpriseOne Standalone1. Launch JD Edwards EnterpriseOne by double clickingactivConsole.exe from this directory:c:\E900\system\bin32Note:Allow sufficient time for all background processes to start beforeattempting to log in. Even though the login screen appearsimmediately, wait at least 30 seconds before signing in. Failure todo so may result in security server (process jdenet_n.exe)startup errors.2. Login to the Standalone client with the user ID DEMO and the passwordDEMO. If the environment and role fields are shown, take the defaults ofenvironment DEMO900 and role *ALL.3. If you have installed any Oracle Business Accelerators (OBA), click theOptions button to display the environment and role fields. In this case, youStarting EnterpriseOne Standalone should enter the role: DEMOROLE and take the default environment:DEMO900.► To troubleshoot EnterpriseOne Standalone Client startup errorsIf you have any trouble running the Standalone client, turn on additional logging and rerun the Standalone client.1. Run the Windows Task Manager.2. Kill these processes if they are running:•activConsole.exe•jdenet_n.exe3. Edit the c:\Windows\jde.ini file.4. In the Debug section, change the value of the Output key to “FILE” (withoutthe quotes).5. Take note of the names of the log files specified for the JobFile and DebugFilekeys in the Debug section.6. Run activConsole.exe from the c:\E900\system\bin32directory.7. Attempt to sign into the Standalone client.Logs are generated in the directory specified by the JobFile and DebugFilekeys in the Debug section of the jde.ini. However, the names of the files will be of the forms jde_pid_mmddyy.log orjdedebug_pid_mmddyy.log where•pid is the ID of the process generating the log.•mmddyy is the month, day, and year in which the log was generated. You can determine which process ID belongs to each E1 process by noting the process IDs and names shown in the Windows Task Explorer and byexamining the first few lines of the generated logs.8. If you get an error (either in a pop-up window or in the logs) indicating that theStandalone client could not connect to the security server, try the following:。
