简爱中的女权主义
摘要
在男权至上的维多利亚时代,女性始终被男性所歧视。
然而,由夏洛蒂.勃朗特塑造的女主人公简爱,她的超前女性意识挑战了男性权威。
在维多利亚时代的小说中,夏洛蒂谴责了男性对于女性的压迫及歧视,与此同时,夏洛蒂又塑造出简爱心地纯洁,善于思考,自尊,倔强的性格和勇于追求平等和幸福以及决定自己婚姻的杰出形象,使简爱成为维多利亚时代同样也是新时代具有反叛意识的女性代表。
简爱,这一新的女主人公形象向往着平等和自由。
本文主要讨论的是《简爱》女主人公形象特点。
本人由四部分组成:介绍,文献综述,作为文章主体的讨论部分以及结论。
本文从简爱所经历的四个时期来分析她的女权主义精神。
第一个时期,在盖茨黑德的不幸生活:女权主义精神开始萌发。
第二个时期,在劳伍德学校的艰难生活:简爱的女权主义精神得以形成。
第三个时期,在桑菲尔德庄园的简单而又快乐的生活:使简爱的女权主义精神得以发展。
第四个时期,又返回桑菲尔德庄园:简爱的女权主义精神最终成熟。
以及从两个方面分析她之所以为女权主义而斗争的原因:个人原因及社会原因。

Abstract
The Victorian Age was men-centered and men-controlled times. Women were discriminated against by men at that time. However, the ahead-of-age feminism spirit of Jane Eyre, the main character of Jane Eyre written by Charlotte Bronte, challenged men’s authority. In this novel of the Victorian Age, Charlotte exposed and denounced men’s oppression of and discrimination against women. I n the mean while, Charlotte is remarkable in portraying Jane Eyre as a self-respecting and rebellious girl, desiring
equality, bravely showing her love and deciding on her own marriage. Through the portrayal, Charlotte sets a new rote model for women of Victorian times as well as modern age.
Jane Eyre, the heroine, is a new woman image who requires independence equality and freedom. The thesis mainly discusses the character of the heroine in “Jane Eyre”. There are four major parts—introductions, literature review, discussion which is the main body of the thesis and conclusion.
The thesis just analyzes Jane’s feminism spirit through four periods of her experiences. First, unfortunate life at Gateshead: the feminism spirit sprouts up. Second, hard life at Lowood: the feminism conscious of Jane Eyre shapes. Third, brief happy life at Thornfield: the feminism spirit of Jane Eyre develops. Fourth, return to Thornfield: the feminism spirit of Jane Eyre ripens. As well as from two aspects analyze the reasons why she fight for feminism: personal reasons and social reasons.
