Teaching steps(教学步骤)1. Lead in(课堂导入)T: Look at the picture .What does the picture symbolize?S1: ….S2: ….S3: Volunteering! / Volunteers!(如果学生回答有难度,老师可以多给一些提示,如There are people who offer their time to help others who are in need or in trouble. W hat do we call them?)(学生回答完之后,教师把“volunteer”板书在黑板上,并解析“志愿者”)T:Have you ever been a volunteer ?Ss: Yes /No.T: As a volunteer , what could you do to help others ?S1: …S2: …T: Yes, we could do many things for people in need.Now let’s open your books and turn to page 9. Let’s see what we could do to help people. 教学设计说明:以图片和问题导入,激发学生的好奇心和兴趣,以此引入今天的话题。
2. PresentationT: Now, look at the picture. What can you see? (To S1).S1: Two students, a boy and a girl.S2: Volunteer Day!S3: Some signs on the wall.S4: …T: So from this information, we can guess that they are talking about volunteering to help others. Now let’s read the dialogue and the signs together.Ss: I hope to work outside. You could help to clean up the city parks.(教师在学生齐读的时候在黑板上板书重点词组clean up the city parksvisit the sick children in the hospital help stop hunger 并在学生读完后解析这些词组。
Then ask, “What other ways could you help people? Write your answers in your book. (教师可以四处走动,以帮助学生改正错误,或者提供帮助。

Have Ss fill in the blanks individually.5. Have Ss read the sentences as a class.6. According to the listening, have Ss identify ways to express hope and to offer help. 6. Listening 2a &2b2a: Listen for the first time and check the things they are going to do.1. Check Ss’ answers.2.
