Unit8 How was your school trip?

Period 3

学习目标:

1. Students can use the past form of some verbs in this period.

2. Students can describe the past events accurately.

3. Students can use conjunctions when describing the order of the events.

学习难点:

1. The past form of the verbs.

2. The order to describe the events happened in the past.

自学指导:

1. to remember the words and phrases;

2. to train reading;

3. to make conversations;

4. to finish exercises;

学习过程:

Step 1 Check the homework and show studying aims. (3 minutes)

Step 2 Lead in (5 minutes)

1. Tell the ss that they will have a day off. Ask them what they want to do most?

List the phrases. No. 1 is the most thing they want to do.

2. Get them to read it out if they can give the reasons.

3. Explain what’s the meaning of ―day off‖

Step 3 New words (8 minutes)

1. Teach some of the new words in the period by showing pictures both single and

2 2. Lead the students to read more times than ask some individual

ones to read aloud.

Step 4 Books –3a (10 minutes)

1. Give students the following information and ask them to predict.

―Class 9 had a great time on the school trip. They went to Blue Water

Aquarium for the day. Please guess what they did there and what they

saw there.‖

2. Listen to the tape and put the sentences in the right order.

3. Check the answers.

3 5. Explain some important expressions.

6. Help the ss to retell the article by a simple map.

Step 5 SB Page 51 , 3b (4 minutes)

T:Imagine you are Tony and you’ll give Nick a letter. Point out the

letter .Read the letter to the class .saying blank each time when

come to a blank line .Read the letter and fill in the blank .Ask one

student to present the answers .

Step 5 SB Page 51, 3c .

T : We read about the things Tony and Nick did .What did you do on

your last day off .Let’s write a letter about them .

Give them help if they need .Ss work .

Step 6 Exercises. (14 minutes)

Ask students to do exercises and finish them in this class. The

teacher goes around the classroom to check the answer and help some

students if necessary.

Step 7 Summary and Homework (1 minute)

This class we’ve learnt key vocabulary on page 51 and done

reading practice. You learn the past forms.

Today’s homework.

1. Remember the words.

2. Make some more conversations.

3. Preview the next page.
