Part 1 Words and Expressions

(1) wares n.货物,商品 (pl. old-fashioned things that sb. is selling, especially in the street

or at a market)

(14) thrust v. 硬塞给 (thrust – thrust) (to push sth. or sb. suddenly or violently in a

particular direction)

(1) (Ph1) Small boats loaded with wares sped to the great liner as she was entering

the harbour.

(2) Before she had anchored, the men from the boats had climbed on board and the
