而她的好友是个好奇心很重的人，于是就想尽办法要从她口中多套出一点情报出来。

我则是本次的会议记录，把她们之间精采的八卦(gossip) 对谈给忠实地纪录下来。

1. Are you and Matt an item?你跟Matt是一对吗？用来询问两个人是不是在一起的口语问法有许多种，例如相当常见的，"Are you going out with him?" "Have you been seeing each other?"或是"Are you dating?"都十分好用。

但是最近我又听到一个俚语的讲法，"Are you an item?" {Longman: having a sexual or romantic relationship} 同样的也是指「你们是不是一对？」的意思。

以上这些用法大部分都是直接明了，一看便知什么意思，但是going out with someone 居然也是两个人在约会的意思，实在有点匪夷所思。

但是事实上这样的用法却是最普遍的。

曾经有老美跟我提过，"A couple doesn't actually go anywhere, but we call it going out." 他的意思是说，两个人在一起不一定要约出去我们才能称之为going out。

例如两个人是班上同学，彼此互相喜欢互相认定对方是自己的男女朋友，虽然从来没有真正出去过，两人只在上课时见面，我们还是可以说他们going out。

例如"Mary is going out with Craig." (Mary跟Craig在交往中。

微信公众平台在大学英语教学中的应用随着互联网时代的飞速发展，手机越来越智能化，又能上网又能看电视。

根据我国互联网控制中心相关数据表面，截止2015年12月，我国上网的人数达到了12.35亿，其中利用手机上网的人数有8.65亿。

由腾讯公司推出的一款新型的社交软件--微信，它不仅可以发表纯文字，还可以发表图片加文字等等功能，在聊天时还可以语音通话、视频聊天、语音聊天等，相比之前其他的社交软件功能比较强大，因此，使用人数也在不断上升。

根据我国相关教育法规发布声明，信息科学技术的发展速度能够直接到我国教育事业的发展，由此可见，将微信公众平台使用到职业技术学校英语教学中肯定会取得意想不到的教学效果。

一、大学英语教学应用微信公众平台的理论基础大学英语教学利用微信平台的理论基础是构建主义，根据构建主义而言，学生不是通过死记硬背、生搬硬套等学习方法进行吸收和理解英语新知识，而是通过其自身已有的知识作为基础，进而与外界发生相互作用的效应。

微信通过聊天可以促进教师与学生、学生与学生之间进行有效的沟通交流，及时有效地帮助学生解决英语学习过程中遇到的难题，进而提高学生的英语学习效率，为学生营造一个英语学习沟通的良好平台，使得学生提高英语学生的自信心，在与教师、学生之间进行有益的互相作用，帮助教师根据不同的学生采用不同的指导方法，提高学生的英语综合素质。

二、使用微信公众平台在大学英语教学中的优势微信没有时间地点的限制，教师与学生、学生与学生可以随时随地进行学习问题的探讨，打破了传统教学模式的局限性，课外学生也可以进行相应英语知识点的学习，可以提高学生自主学习能力和学习大学英语的自觉性，教师和学生、学生和学生之间可以进行有效的沟通交流，提高学生的英语实际应用能力。

微信语音交流的功能，可以让学生大胆地说英语，不用担心说得不够标准，学生面对教师或者同学会出现尴尬的情况，进而提高学生的英语口语水平，使得学生更有信心学习大学英语。
