Materials:

Pictures of people with different physical appearance and personality traits

Flashcards with adjectives (e.g. tall, short, kind, friendly, funny, serious, etc.)

Worksheets with exercises related to adjectives and sentence patterns

Whiteboard and markers

Procedure:

Warm-up

Greet the students and ask them how they are feeling today.

Review adjectives related to physical appearance and personality traits by showing pictures and

having students practice saying the adjectives.

Introduction

Show pictures of people with different physical appearance and personality traits and have

students describe them using adjectives (e.g. "He is tall and has black hair. She is kind and friendly.

He is funny and likes to tell jokes.").

Use flashcards with adjectives to have students practice matching the correct adjectives to the

correct pictures.

Practice

Use the whiteboard to write sentence patterns for describing people (e.g. "He/She is + adjective +

noun." "He/She has + adjective + noun." "He/She is not + adjective + noun."). Have students

practice making sentences about the people in the pictures using these sentence patterns.

Distribute worksheets with exercises related to adjectives and sentence patterns. Have students

fill in the missing words in sentences or complete short paragraphs describing people they know.

Consolidation

Review the lesson by having students take turns describing their own family members or friends

using adjectives and sentence patterns.

Use the whiteboard to write questions about physical appearance and personality traits (e.g.

"What does your best friend look like? What is his/her personality like?") and have students

practice asking and answering the questions with a partner. Assessment

To assess student understanding, have students work in pairs and describe a picture of a person

using adjectives and sentence patterns.

Homework:

Assign homework that reinforces the concepts learned in class, such as writing a short paragraph

describing a family member or friend using adjectives and sentence patterns, or creating a poster

with pictures and adjectives describing different people.
