Asia is the biggest continent in the world. China, Nepal, Japan, and India are all part of Asia.
Oceania is the smallest continent. Australia is part of Oceania.
Africa has lots of interesting animals. It also has the biggest desert in the world.
Europe has many small countries. France, Italy, and Germany are all part of Europe.
North America is a large continent. Canada, the USA, and Mexico are in North America.
South America has the world’s largest rainforest .
It also has the world’s largest river.
Antarctica is a very cold continent. People don’t live there, but there are many penguins.

【教材分析】
本课是科普版小学英语五下的第7课，本册书从第7课到第10课都是学习有关时间的表达，因此第7课算是起始课，语言知识相对简单，句型变化不大，相对整齐，利于学生理解、学习和运用。学生在三年级就学过时间的表达，但本课时间的表达在数字上更复杂，通过学习学生可以表达表盘上的任何时间。句型也在What time is it? It’s … 的基础上增加了It’s time for … 与学生的日常生活联系也更紧密。整体学习难度上呈现出一种螺旋递增的趋势。有旧知识的复现，又有新知识的增加。要求学生可以综合运用，灵活表达。
【学情分析】
学生已经学过星期的词汇，对数字词汇也可以从1数到1000，对时间表达中所涉及到的数字已经基本掌握。时间的英语表达基本句型也已经掌握(What time is
it? It’s ... )。时间话题与学生的家庭生活、学校生活都息息相关，学生对这样的话题有表达的能力和愿望。为学生提供合适的语言环境，鼓励学生自由表达是本节课的学习重点。
