1.纯客观叙事
典型的纯客观叙事，不依赖叙述者的讲 述，而是以客观的“显示”故事，所有的一 切都通过人物的外部对话和行动来展开，让 人几乎感受不到叙述者的存在。这种内敛、 凝练的叙述，制造了许多悬念和谜团。

奥尔的反应为什么那样淡然，那样无所谓？ 通常小说中都应该有所交待的内容，作者却 无一字触及，因此就造成这样一种感觉：作者其 实也仅仅知道小说中通过对话客观呈现的那些部 分，其他的内容，他所知道的要比故事中人物知 道的少的多。唯一知情的是奥尔，但是他却选择 保持缄默。
这篇小说真正关注的人不是杀手， 而是奥尔，而是尼克！这个看起来似乎 次要的人物，不再是最初以受害者形象 出现的人，他其实是贯穿全文的中心人 物。小说的寓意就深藏在貌似平淡乏味 但却内涵丰富的对话中，显示了作者独 具的匠心。
四个场景
第一场景主要集中在亨利餐室，围绕杀 手和乔治的对话展开；第二场景在杀手离去 后的厨房，三人对话，决定去报信；第三场 景在赫奇公寓，侧重描述尼克向奥尔报信以 及后者的反应；第四场景是以尼克返回餐馆 结束。

A brief introduction Ernest Miller Hemingway (July 21, 1899 – July 2, 1961) was an American novelist, short-story writer, and journalist. He was part of the 1920s expatriate community in Paris, as well as the veterans of World War One later known as "the Lost Generation“. He received the Pulitzer Prize in 1953 for The Old Man and the Sea, and the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1954.

1936年4月，海明威在《乡绅》 杂志上发表了一篇名为“碧水之上： 海湾来信”的散文，其中一段记叙 了一位老人独自驾着小船出海捕鱼， 捉到一条巨大的大马林鱼，但鱼的 大部分被鲨鱼吃掉的故事。

He also worked as a war reporter in the Spanish Civil War and the WWII.
He is a tough guy with rather masculine manner. In all his life, he loved tough games, such as boxing, hunting, deepsea fishing, bullfight and so on. He was injured many times. In all the operations, 237 steel fragments were taken out from Hemingway’s body. He also suffered 3 car accidents and 2 air crushes. He was admired as a hero by lots of people and his life style was imitated.
Common theme of his novels: “grace under pressure”
enter university. He chose to be a reporter. During the WWI, he wanted to join the army but was refused because of
his poor eyesight. Then Hemingway came to Italy to work as an ambulance driver. He was seriously wounded in the battlefield. The nightmarish war experience changed his life.
