课题:Unit2 English around the world;

课时:1学时(40mins);

教材:新课标实验教材高一英语必修一;

一、教材分析

本课节选自普通高中课程标准实验教材必修一第二单元的内容,主要讲的是

英语的发展和英语的种类,本教案选择的是Warming up 和Reading 部分。

Warming Up部分简要介绍了世界英语的分支以及英语语言在不同国家产生的差

异,使学生感受英语语言的多文化、多层次、多元性,对英国英语和美国英语的

不同有个粗浅的了解;Pre-Reading部分的两个问题引发学生对课文主题的思考,

以便参加课堂活动;Reading部分The Road to Modern English 简要说明了英语语

言的起源、发展变化、形成原因,以及它的发展趋势。Comprehending部分旨在

检查学生对课文基本内容的理解程度。

通过对英语语言的发展历史这一话题的探讨,加强学生对英语语言的了解,

特别是对英语发展趋势的了解。在完成本节课的学习后,学生能感受到英语语言

的多层次和多元化,有助于培养学生的跨文化意识,对之后的学习也具有非常重

要的意义。

二、教学目标

1. 语言技能目标:

①谈谈英语及它的发展和不同的种类,对英国英语和美国英语的差异有所了解,

尤其是一些常用词汇,比如flat和apartment, lift 和elevator, rubber 和eraser等;

②学会语言交际困难的表达法,如pardon, I beg your pardon?;

③学会用要求和命令来对话;

④学会将直接引语转化成间接引语;

2. 语言知识目标:

(1)重点单词、短语:

subway, elevator, petrol, gas, official, voyage, conquer, native, come

up, apartment, actually, base, at present, gradually, vocabulary, make

use of, latter, identity, fluently, frequently, usage, command

(2)功能句式: ①English is a language spoken all around the world.

②There are more than 42 countries where the majority of the people speak

English.

③The number of people who learn English as a foreign language is more

than 750 million.

④In China students learn English at school as a foreign language, except

for those in Hong Kong, where many people speak English as a first or a

second language.

3. 情感态度目标:

使学生认识到英语的重要性,了解到英国英语和美国英语的区别,两种英语

不存在那种好与不好的问题。此外,还有,中国式英语在将来受欢迎的可能性。

三、教学重难点

(1)重点:

1、提高学生的阅读能力

2、使学生掌握一些有用的表达

3、掌握重要的词汇,如include role international native

语法项目:祈使句及其间接引语

(2)难点:

难点分析: 英语作为一门语言最首要的功能就是交流,让学生在日常实际生活中

学会使用这些有用的表达是本课的难点。具体有以下几方面:

1.Expressing one’s idea on which kind of English one should learn;

2.guess the name of speaker’s country by listening;

3.how to tell the differences between a command and a request;

4.how to change the pronoun when turning the direct speech into indirect speech.

四、教学方法

1、任务型语言教学法

任务型语言教学是交际语言教学近年来发展起来的一种教学方法,主张采用

任务型语言教学的人认为:人们使用语言的过程就是一个完成各种各样任务的过

程。在本课时中,我将根据课程目标和教学内容设定一个个的学习任务,采用自

学、小组讨论和师生对话等形式,让学生在完成一个个任务的同时提升自己各方

面的能力,培养学生对英语学习本身浓厚的兴趣。

2、启发式教学法

创设一个个问题情景,配合小组讨论交流,采用启发式教学启发学生的主动

学习,而不是教师一味地讲或是学生被动地配合老师,注重调动学生在过程中的

主动性和创造性。

五、教学准备

多媒体。

六、教学过程

(1)Lead-in: 以头脑风暴的方式向学生提出一系列与本文有关的问题作为今天

课堂的导入。问题如: 1.Do you know the countries where people speak English? List them on a piece

of paper.

2.What are the two main groups of English?

3.Do you know the differences between British English and American English?

4.Do you know the history of English?

(2)Fast-reading:

1. 让学生尽可能快的阅读课文, 然后判断下面的陈述是否正确。

(1)There is no difference between American English and British English.

(2)Written English is the same in both American English and British English.

(3)Sometimes people from the two countries have difficulty in understanding each other.

(4)The English language in the world always stay the same as the language used in Britain.

2. 展示一些单词和短语,先给出前半部分,让学生在文中相应部分找出来,并

根据上下文猜测这些单词或是词组的意思。

(1)include包括,包含

(2)play an important role / part in 扮演重要角色

(3)even if / though 即使,即便

(4)a large number of 许多,大量的

(5)communicate with 和...交流

(6)be based on 建立在......的基础上

3.让学生在经过快速阅读之后,能概括出文章大意,并且要他们找出每段的关

键句或要求学生用自己的话概括每段大意。在此项活动之中,我将全班同学分

成五组,并要求每组派代表发言回答问题,最后给出答案供学生对照参考。 Paragraph 1: The spread of the English language in the world

Paragraph 2: Native speaker can understand each other but they may not be able

to understand everything.

Paragraph 3-4: All languages change when cultures communicate with one

another.

Paragraph 5: English is spoken as a foreign language or second language in

Africa and Asia.

(3)Intensive Reading 1、让学生自行阅读课文,找出文中不认识的单词,自己借助字典等工具标出注

释,画出文中自己理解不了的句子。

2、逐段对课文进行讲解。让学生对本文的生词形成初记忆,对本文的一些有用

表达有较为深层次的理解。与此同时,我还将对一些有助于学生理解文章的问题

进行着重解答。

生词如:international, native, elevator, flat, apartment, rubber…

问题如:

1)Give the three major periods of the development of English.

Who promoted the spread of English?

People. When they moved, they carried English to different places.

2)T: Although they speak English, yet sometimes they can not understand each other well, why?

--------- Because there exist differences between different Englishes, not only

in vocabulary, but also in pronunciation and spelling. (hot/mum/honor/

honor/neighbour/neighbor…..)

3 )T: How do these differences come about? (Why does English change over

time?)

--------- Because of cultural communication.

4)Ask ss to find out the characteristics of each time according to the time axis. AD450-1150: German

1150-1500: less like German; more like French In the 1600’s: Shakespeare’s English

The time ADEL was written: American English

Later: Australian English

3、让学生再次仔细阅读课文,然后用文中的词语填空。
