Journey Down the MekongPart 2 A night in the mountainsAlthough it was autumn, the snow was already beginning to fall in Tibet. Our legs were so heavy and cold that they felt like blocks of ice. Have you ever seen snowmen ride bicycles? That’s what we looked like! Along the way children dressed in long wool coats stopped to look at us. In the late afternoon we found it was so cold that our water bottles froze. However, the lakes shone like glass in the setting sun and looked wonderful. Wang Wei rode in front of me as usual. She was very happy and I knew I didn’t need to encourage her. To climb the mountains was hard work but as we look around us, we were surprised by the view. We seemed to be able to see for miles. At one point we were so high that we found ourselves cycling through clouds. Then we began going down the hills. It was great fun especially as it slowly became much warmer. In the valleys colourful butterflies flew around us and we saw many yaks and sheep eating green grass. At this point we had to change our caps, gloves and trousers for T-shirts and shorts. In the early evening, we always stop to make camp. We put up our tent and then we eat. After supper Wang Wei put her head down on her pillow and went to sleep but I stayed awake. At midnight the sky became clearer and the stars grew brighter. It was so quiet. There was almost no wind- only the flames of our fire for company. As I lay beneath the stars I thought about how far we had already travelled. We will reach Dali in Yunan Province soon, where our cousins will join us. We can hardly wait to see them!。
大山深处英文作文Deep in the mountains, where the air is crisp and the trees stand tall, there exists a sense of tranquility that cannot be found in the hustle and bustle of the city. The silence is broken only by the occasional chirping of birds or the rustling of leaves in the wind.As you wander through the dense forest, you can't help but feel a sense of awe at the sheer magnitude of nature's beauty. The towering cliffs and cascading waterfalls create a breathtaking landscape that seems almost otherworldly. In the heart of the mountains, there is a hidden lake that glistens like a precious gem in the sunlight. Its crystal-clear waters reflect the surrounding peaks, creating a mirror-like surface that is utterly mesmerizing. The wildlife here is abundant and diverse, from the elusive deer to the playful squirrels that dart through the underbrush. Each creature plays a vital role in maintainingthe delicate balance of this pristine ecosystem. At night, the mountains are cloaked in darkness, and the sky is illuminated by a myriad of stars that seem to stretch on for eternity. The stillness of the night is punctuated only by the occasional hoot of an owl or the distant howl of a wolf.In this remote wilderness, time seems to stand still, and the worries of the outside world fade away. It is a place of profound solitude and introspection, where one can truly connect with the natural world and find peace within themselves.。

山月记英文版经典语录In the dim light of the ancient room, a sense of tranquility enveloped him as he penned down his thoughts, each stroke of the brush capturing the essence of the moonlit night. This was a moment of solitary reflection, a moment where the world outside ceased to exist, and only the delicate dance of ink on paper remained."Mountain Moonlight" these two words held within them a world of meaning, a world that transcended the boundaries of time and space. In those fleeting moments of moonlit splendor, he found solace, a refuge from the chaos of the everyday world. It was here, amidst the whispering pines and the gentle rustle of leaves, that he felt most alive. As he wrote, his thoughts flowed freely, unencumbered by the constraints of reality. Each word, each phrase, was like a brushstroke on the canvas of his mind, painting a picture of the world as he saw it. And in that world, there was beauty in simplicity, in the quiet moments of contemplation."The moonlight casts its silver glow upon the mountains, illuminating the darkness with its ethereal light. In its soft embrace, the world is transformed, bathed in a luminous haze that transcends the boundaries of time and space."His words echoed through the chamber, reverberating off the ancient walls like the whispers of ghosts long gone. And yet, there was a sense of peace in those echoes, a sense of harmony that spoke to the very depths of his soul."Here, amidst the mountains and the moonlight, I find myself at one with the universe, a mere speck in the vast expanse of time and space. And yet, in this moment, I am infinite, my spirit soaring on the wings of imagination."With each stroke of the brush, he delved deeper into the recesses of his mind, exploring the hidden corners of his soul. It was a journey of self-discovery, a quest to uncover the truths that lay buried beneath the surface."Perhaps it is in the darkness that we truly find ourselves, in the quiet moments of solitude where the noise of the world fades away and all that is left is the echo of our own thoughts."And so, he continued to write, his words flowing like a river, meandering through the landscape of his mind. Each sentence was a revelation, a glimpse into the inner workings of his soul."In the mountains, amidst the moonlight, I have found my sanctuary, a place of refuge from the storms of life. Here, I am free to be myself, to explore the depths of my being without fear or hesitation."As the night wore on, the moon began to wane, its silver light fading into the darkness. And yet, in that darkness, there was a beauty all its own, a beauty that spoke to the eternal nature of the human spirit."For in the darkness, there is light, and in the silence, there is song. And it is in these moments, amidst the mountains and the moonlight, that I find my truest self."With a final stroke of the brush, he set down his pen, his thoughts spent but his spirit renewed. And as he gazed out into the night, he knew that no matter where life's journey took him, he would always carry with him the memory of this moonlit night, a night of reflection, of revelation, of mountain moonlight.。
