Alcatel-Lucent 1870 Transport Tera Switch (TTS)RELEASE 1

The Alcatel-Lucent 1870 Transport Tera Switch (TTS) is a new class of optical core switching platform with terabit capacity and Optical Transport Network (OTN) support for the next-generation intelligent optical core. The 1870 TTS scales up to 8 terabit/sec (Tbps) and down to 1 Tbps in a single chassis via its universal switch matrix and offers a high density architecture with the flexibility to split increasing IP traffic demands among any combination of carrier Ethernet, OTN and SONET/SDH. It also enables cross-layer operations automation and resiliency through its integrated GMPLS (generalized multiprotocol label switching) control plane.
