现在进行时表示现在正在进行的动作或存在的状态。

a．现在进行时表示说话时动作正在发生或进行。

如：Mary is playing football.玛丽正在踢足球。

b．表示现阶段，不限于说话时特定的时间范围内进行的动作。

如：I'm learning English hard this year.

今年我一直在努力学习英语。

c．有些动词的现在进行时用来表示按计划或将要发生的动作，如come，go，arrive，leave，start等。

I'm coming.我就来。

He is leaving for Beijing.他将要动身去北京。

d．有些动词如know，lie(位于)，stand，have，own，like, want，hope等，一般不用于进行时态。
