Teaching ExplanationSEFC Book 1 A Module3 My First Ride on a TrainIntroduction: My First Ride on a Train外国语2011级英本6班冯婷Good morning, teachers. My name is Fung Ting. It’s my great honor to be here to share my idea of teaching with you. And the topic I get is Senior English Book 1, Module 3, My First Ride on a Train. I arrange my lesson under 4 parts, that is:Part 1,analysis of the teaching material; Part 2, the analysis of the students; Part 3, the teaching methods and Part 4, the teaching procedures.Part 1 Analysis of the teaching material1.Status & function:In this section, the students are intended to learn some new words in relation to the means of transport. And they may describe the first time they traveled a long distance and say how old they were, where they went and who they went with.2.Teaching aims & demands:1) Knowledge objectives:The students learn the name of transportations;2) Ability objectives:The students know how to talk about a trip to a tourist spot;3) Feeling attitudes & cultural sense:The student learn to love traveling.3.Teaching key points:The students are able to describe their first long-distance travel.Part 2 Analysis of the studentsMost of the students are not familiar with the means of transport, some of them even did not travel a long distance. So I choose to show them some pictures about transports. Throughthat way, some students will develop the interest in English gradually and then become active.Part 3 The teaching methodsCommunicative ApproachWhy I adopt this method is based on the following reasons:To achieve the teaching aims better, to enable students to speak out. I use the Pair work or individual role play or scene play activity in my teaching. I will ask students work in a group to discuss some questions. And sometimes I shall ask them to speak out their feeling. At the end of the class, I intend to let the students make a conversation with their partner. And in order to practice my teaching methods well, I will need some pictures. Communicative Approach can help me make students speak out and let them know more skills of speaking.Part 4 The teaching proceduresI have designed 4 steps to improve students’ speaking ability and let them speak out.Step 1. IntroductionI will ask a student to share her travel experience. Then I’d like to ask students to speak out the means of transportation. At the same time, I will write what they said on the blackboard. Then I shall show them some pictures about transports and ask them to name the transports.Step 2. PresentationI’d like to give them a form and ask them to classify the transportation we just learned. By filling the form, the students can review the new words. Then I will give the students some sentences in relation to “get out of/get off, get into/ get on, ride/drive ”, lead them to find the differences between them. After distinguishing the verb(get on/off, get into/out of, ride, drive, take off/land ), I’d like to let them match the verb with pictures which are in relation to the means of transportation on the screen.Step 3. PracticeThis part is the core part of my lesson. At this step, I will ask the students to talk about the first time they traveled a long distance. Their speech should contain how old they were, who they went with, how they traveled and where they went. Before they do the work, I willshow them an example to help them work better.Step 4. ProductionThis part is the productive process. After learning, the students already know how to describe their travel experience. So I want them to make a conversation with their partner.O.k., that’s all for my presentation today. Thank you very much.。
Module 3Foreign FoodSection ⅠIntroduction & Reading and Vocabulary能力提升Ⅰ.阅读理解AFrench cuisine is extremely diverse, with only the Chinese having similar variety in their food. This variety is supported by the French passion for good food in all its forms,France's extraordinary range of different geographical conditions and climates that support the local production of many types of ingredients (原料),and France's long and varied history. In many ways,an understanding of the culture of French food is an understanding of France itself.Meals range from the very basic, such as the traditional baguette (棍子面包),cheese and inexpensive wine,to very elaborate meals that can include a dozen dishes and different wines consumed over several hours.Obviously, the latter type of dining is hardly used by most people. However,it is this dining that is typically found in“French restaurants”outside France, giving many foreigners the mistaken impression that French food is heavy and complicated. In fact, much of the French cuisine is fairly simple, relying on high-quality fresh ingredients and loving preparation.Almost all the famous French dishes are regional specialties. The French Mediterranean uses olive oil, herbs and tomatoes in many of its dishes. The cuisine of northwest France uses butter, soured cream and apples. The cuisine of northeast France has a strong German influence which includes beer and sauerkraut.Throughout the south in general there tends to be more use of vegetables and fruit(in part due to the favorable climate).Any discussion about the influences on French cuisine would be incomplete without recognizing the historical contribution of Italy to the development of French cooking. In 1533,Catherine De Medicis (a Florentine princess) married a French prince. At this point,France was not known for its food.Catherine brought manyItalian chefs with her to France, who introduced to France a variety of dishes, food preparation and dining practices.Although France and Italy obviously have evolved very different food cultures, much of France's current food culture can be traced back to this time.【语篇解读】法国美食闻名天下,本文向我们介绍了很多关于法国美食的信息。
