NoteMake sure that the flat portion of the counterhold tool -4- is on the outside, as shown.Repeat this work step on the opposite side of the vehicle. NoteFor safety reasons, a second person is required for this work step.–Insert the load guard -1-—at an angle and tilted back slightly —carefully through the luggage compartment and positionroughly in the installation position.Installation instructions - Audi Q7 2015 ▶Edition 05/201543 Fitting the load guard–Prior to assembly, loosen both fitted bolts -11- on the load guard -1-.–Simultaneously attach both fitted bolts -11- to the lifting eyes -A- -direction of the arrow-, and move them up slightly in the direction of travel -direction of the arrow-.●Align the load guard -1- centrally.–Firmly tighten the fitted bolts -11- on both sides of the vehi-cle.–Place the assembly bracket for the support rail for fastening rings -5- in the installation position and align -direction of the arrows-.–Simultaneously place the assembly bracket for the support rail for fastening rings -5- on the load guard -1- and the counterhold tool -4-.Repeat this work step on the opposite side of the vehicle.–Screw the assembly bracket for the support rail for fastening rings -5- to the load guard -1- in the -direction of the arrow-using both star grip screws -6-.–Place the star grip nut -7- on the assembly bracket for the support rail for fastening rings -5- and screw on in the -direction of the arrow-.–Firmly tighten the star grip screws -6-.–Ensure that the catches -B- on the counterhold tool -4- are positioned between the catch studs on the support rail.–In this position, firmly tighten the star grip nut -7- on the as-sembly bracket for the support rail for fastening rings -5-.WARNINGThe catches -B- on the counterhold tool -4- must be posi-tioned between the catch studs on the support rail. Repeat this work step on the opposite side of the vehicle.–Screw the assembly bracket for fastening rings -3- to the load guard -1- in the -direction of the arrow- using both star grip screws -6-.–Place the star grip nut -7- on the assembly bracket for fas-tening rings -3- and screw on in the -direction of the arrow-.–Firmly tighten the star grip screws -6- and star grip nut -7-.Repeat this work step on the opposite side of the vehicle.–Fit the space separator if using one ⇒ “Fitting the space sep-arator” on page 8.–Fold the rear seat backrest back, making sure that the loadguard -1- does not rub against it.Installation instructions - Audi Q7 2015 ▶Edition 05/20153 Fitting the load guard74Fitting the space separatorSequence of operations to fit the space separator –You can choose to insert the space separator either in the centre, or in a 1/3–2/3 position.–Loosely screw the space separator to the load guard at the top -A- using the long star grip screw (40 mm) -9-.–Loosely screw the space separator to the load guard at the bottom -B- using the short star grip screws (20 mm) -10-.–Tighten all the star grip screws -9- and -10-.Sequence of operations to align the space separator –Detach the lock nut -A-.–Turn the support bracket -B- to align it in such a way that the space separator is given a slight bearing preload.–Tighten the lock nut -C-.–Fold the rear seat backrest back, making sure that the loadguard does not rub against it.Installation instructions - Audi Q7 2015 ▶Edition 05/201584 Fitting the space separator。
