How I Spent My Winter Vacation

The Winter vacation had come round again. I was happy that

I could forget about school at least for a while. Lest I fool around

all through this summer vacation, I made a plan as to how to

spend it.

First, I thought I should go over all those things my teachers

taught in the previous term so that I could have a better

understanding of them. Then I thought I should take up some

forms of exercise, such as walking, running rowing, to keep me

physically strong. It stood to reason that with such a good plan I

should make the best of my vacation time. I did, because I lived

up to what I had planned.

month, but I feel that I just have a week off. How time flies.

I had a woderful vacation. Or I can say I had a wonderful

Spring Festival. The first day of my vacation, I started doing my

homework. Because I know if I didn’t work on my study now, I

couldn’ t have a great Spring Festival later on.

So I made up my mind finishing my homework before Spring

Festival. How wonderful the expected festival was coming. My

house was full of laugh and hapiness. My families and ralatives

gave me some luck money and wished me make progress on my study. We also hanged out with friends on the street. When the

atmosphere of Spring Festivel was fading away, the Lantern

Festival is coming. After that, I think I don’t have too much

holiday time left.

Two or three days later, I would go to school for my new term

study. See, I was so happy that I feel I just have a week holiday.

I am not a risk taker. I like to do just those that I am proficient

at. I have learned that it is better to focus my attention, do one

thing and do it well, and not try anything new.

When I was younger, I was always experimenting with a lot

of different things. First I wanted to be a dress designer so I

studied drawing. I couldn’t’t draw so I decided to be a

historian. That suited me perfectly since all I had to do was sit in

a library and read. I learned to focus my attention on one subject.

I am a very good reader and history is very interesting to me.

I decided not to read any other subject. I only read history books.

I even focused my attention on Chinese history. I only read

history books on Chinese history. I do one thing and I do it well.

I don’t like to try anything new. If I read things in another

area, I don’t do well. I don’t understand American history or

English history. The names aare confusing and the stories not

interesting to me. I don’t want to learn about anything else.

Chinese history is my subject.

I may seem a bit stubborn, but I have learned what makes

me happy. I don’t like to take a risk with new things. I like to

focus my attention on one subject, do it well, and not try

anything new.
