1.学生识记2a中的单词，然后标出认为濒临灭绝的动物，小组内交流原因。
2.学生快速阅读2b短文，了解短文大意，为短文选出合适的标题。
3.学生认真阅读短文，总结这篇短文是从哪些方面来介绍大象的。教师板书，并且写出关键词语。
4.学生再一次认真阅读短文，完成2c。
2.cut down
cut用作及物动词，意为“砍;切”，指用带刃的工具将物体分开。可接简单宾语，也可接双宾语，其间接宾语可以转化为介词for的宾语。
例句：Please cut Lily the cake.=Please cut the cake for Lily.请为莉莉切蛋糕。
拓展：cut down意为“砍倒”，down为副词。其后的宾语如果是名词，可以放在cut和down中间，也可以放在down后面，但如果是代词，必须放在二者中间。
