Teaching Aims:
1. Knowledge and Skill
a. Enable the Ss to master the important words, understand the passage and learn
something about healthy food and healthy habits.
b. Master the usage of “will” and “be going to” for future actions.
c. Improve the Ss’ ability of reading, listening, speaking and writing.
d. Help them finish a survey about healthy living
e. To help them know the importance of healthy habits.

a. To arouse the Ss’ curiosity about their diet and make them know what’re healthy

Teaching Procedures:
Period 1
Step 1. Warming up
a. Brainstorming:
Ask the students what kind of food they like best and the specific reasons to support
their idea.
Ask the students what kind of sports they enjoy most and the reason.
b. Ask and answer.
Make a survey of the students.
1). Do you sometimes get colds and flu?
2). Do you eat at least three portions of fruit and vegetables a day?
3). Do you eat fish once a week or more?
4). Do you take at least two hours’ exercise a week?
5). Do you eat much fat, for example, fatty meat?
6). Do you eat a lot of sweet things, for example, chocolate?
7). Do you rarely get toothache, but sometimes go to the dentist for examining?
8). Are you quite fit?
Step 2 Know the meaning of the following words and expressions. Then answer the
following questions: which of them are connected with illness?

Step 3 Translate the following English proverbs into Chinese and Chinese proverbs into
English.
