Unit2 Writing 名师教学设计A Teaching Plan for Module 8 Unit 2 CloningSpeaking & Writing: How to Express one’s Positive and Negative Viewpoints Should we install air-conditioners in the classrooms?一、教学内容:人教新课标版选修八第二单元Cloning Using Language:How to Express on e’s Positive and Negative Viewpoints(即:Speaking & Writing: Should we install air-conditioners in the classrooms?)二、教学目标:1. 能力目标:学会区分事实和观点,从大量泛读材料中提取事实性论据,并以此为依据就某一话题展开辩论,从而提高思辨能力及听说水平;2.知识目标:熟悉应用文书信写作框架,掌握正反观点对立及理由分析常用的句型短语;3.情感目标:促进团队合作、沟通及协调能力。
三、教材分析及处理本单元的中心话题是“克隆”。
第一篇阅读课文介绍了什么是克隆、克隆羊dolly 的诞生与死亡、由此引发的争议,引导学生透过现象看本质,明白任何事物都有两面性,克隆技术在带给我们好处的同时也会给我们带来一些宗教上和社会上的问题。
而第二篇课文则指出了克隆技术不可能使地球上已经消失的动物(如恐龙)复活,并就其原因进行了详细分析,点明克隆绝种动物的好处和坏处。
由此可见,正反观点对立及理由分析是本单元文体框架结构学习的重中之重。
因此,授课教师决定在学生中开展英语辩论赛,将全班分为两大组,分别为正方和反方,使学生通过思辨真正感知如何表达正反观点并提供真实有效的事实论据和符合逻辑的推理论证。
学生即将升上高三,最近天气炎热,学生学习状态较差,学习缺乏动力,于是,辩论的话题我选择了与学生生活密切相关、特别关注的“教室是否应该装空调”的问题,源于生活,学生有熟悉感,有话可说,避免了畏难情。
Writing一、教学内容分析本单元以“A land of diversity”为中心,主要展示了美国加利福尼亚的历史和相关知识,听力部分是对美国的另外一个城市的介绍。
通过对本单元的学习,学生了解了多文化的背景的由来,体会了不同的文化背景的形成,培养了学生的跨文化意识。
二、教学目标1、语言目标:学习了解有关加利福尼亚的历史和知识;学习一些用于描述地点的句型2、能力目标:学会写一篇完整的对某一地点描述的文章;3、情感目标:通过对一些西方的地点的描述,体会跨文化意识,对中国的地点的描述,体会传统的中国特色美,增加对我们国家的自豪感。
三、学习者特征分析高二年纪的学生已经具备了相关的英语学习的技能和方法,但是由于学生的水平是不同的,所以有一部分学生会在课堂上遇到一些困难。
四、教学策略选择与设计本堂课是主要以任务型教学(Task-based Teaching)为主,通过多媒体课件以及安排多个课堂教学活动贯穿整个课时,侧重培养学生的表达能力和写作能力。
五、教学过程1. Greetings2.Lead in通过展示一些加州美丽的自然风景,让学生总结有关“美丽”的单词3. Revision of the history of California .通过一篇小的语法填空的练习,帮助学生复习课文中学到的加州的历史4.A form about California以要去加州旅游为话题,利用图片与学生讨论一些关于加州的地理位置,著名城市,景点等激发学生学习的兴趣。
在此基础上,把加州的一些知识填在表格中。
5.Learn the patterns in describing a place .利用学生的workbook和ppt 展示相关的句型。
帮助学生把上一步中学到的加州的信息写成完整的句子。
6.Exercise趁热打铁,给学生一个具体的例子,进行句式仿写。
写一篇关于澳大利亚的基本信息的小文章。
当堂练习,及时帮助学生扫清障碍并纠正错误。
