“These are for you, Chon,” both of the women said at the same time, opening the boxes. “Diamonds and gold for you.”
Mary thanked them and took over the boxes. She could feel the expression on her face didn’t change at all. It was a miracle that after all these weird things, she could hold the boxes without a shiver. Both of the women went back to the lizard ship without any more words. In a low humming sound the ship lifted and disappeared. Mary stared at the direction that the ship disappeared. The dancing sunlight gave her a sensation of extreme giddiness. She would introduce herself as Chon. One year later she met a nice guy and they remarried. One day her new husband was having a treasure hunt in the attic. And he found an old photo with “Mary is 3 years old” written on its back. He was badly curious and went downstairs to ask her wife.
“Honey, who is Mary? ” He asked and put the photo in front of her.
“Um…she is an irrelevant person.” From the faraway look in her eyes he could tell something was on her mind. Mary snatched the photo from him.
“No, I am Chon. I can’t let anyone know that she was once Mary ” She thought.。
