其中前列腺癌发病率下降63%,结肠癌发病率下降58%,肺癌发病率下降46%。
此项开拓性的研究被称为“硒防癌里程碑”研究,强烈地刺激了国际社会关注硒的研究和应用。
美国和欧洲5国联合开始进行两项大规模的人群试验,被称为“硒”将改变世界。
硒与癌症的关系是科学家最早发现的。
流行病学调查发现,低硒地区癌症发生率高于富硒地区。
如果硒的摄入量多,癌症发生概率就小,这证明了补硒可以降低癌症发生率。

从2006年开始,中国老年学学会便进行了“中国长寿之乡”的评审活动,并制定了15项考核标准。
其中最重要的指标有3项,一是百岁老人数量占总人口数的7/10万,二是80岁及以上老人占总人口数的1.4%以上,三是区域人均预期寿命超过全国平均水平(71.4岁)3岁。
目前,广西巴马、广东三水、广西永福、湖南麻阳、四川彭山、四川都江堰、河南夏邑、湖北钟祥、江苏如皋、山东莱州被评为中国的十大长寿之乡。
2008年,中国科学院地理研究所王五一等专家教授勾画出了中国五大长寿带的分布图,分别是:广西巴马-都安-东兰长寿带,广东三水-佛山长寿带,四川都江堰-彭山长寿带,云南潞西-勐海-景洪长寿带,新疆阿克陶-阿克苏-吐鲁番长寿带。

-“不一样”的巴马-太多的鬼斧神工,太多的斑斓传奇让巴马成为当世最瑰丽的一处秘境,更是受到了国内外科学家的广泛关注。
为什么巴马不断演绎着生命的奇迹?为什么巴马的百岁老人持续攀增?经国内外科学家多次考察后,科学团队认为巴马的长寿现象与它的地理环境有着密切的关系,最重要的因素就是巴马的地磁。
世界五大长寿之乡目前,全世界有5个地方被国际自然医学会认定为长寿之乡,其中中国有两个。
它们是:中国广西巴马、中国新疆和田、巴基斯坦罕萨、外高加索地区、厄瓜多尔的比尔卡班巴。
1.中国广西巴马巴马瑶族自治县位于广西盆地和云贵高原的斜坡地带。
在这里,90岁和100岁以上的老人分别由第三次人口普查的242和44人,上升到第四次人口普查的291和66人,到第五次人口普查时,已经增加到531和74人,有3位老寿星达到了110岁以上,是五大长寿乡中惟一长寿老人不断增多的地方。
巴马人长寿,首先得益于大自然良好环境的赐予。
巴马属于亚热带气候,空气清新,每立方米负氧离子的含量高达2 000—5000个,最高可达到两万个,被称为“天然氧吧”。
喜欢劳动、饮食习惯良好、生活有规律,这也是巴马寿星多的重要因素。
4月14日早上,记者来到甲篆乡百马村坡纳屯寿星黄布铁家里采访。

巴马人长寿还和饮食有关。
他们经常吃火麻、玉米、茶油、酸梅、南瓜、竹笋、白薯等天然食品。
玉米、白薯等含有丰富的微量元素,火麻制成的油和汤含有大量的不饱和低脂肪酸。
国际自然医学会会长森下敬一对巴马进行调查后认为,不饱和低脂肪酸和微量元素的摄入正是巴马人长寿的关键所在。
除了以上几点,乐观也是巴马长寿老人的另一个突出特点。
在平安村平寒屯,我们遇到106岁的黄妈能时,她还背着小孙子。
黄妈能耳聪目明,一边说话一边发出爽朗的笑声。
她告诉我们,她现在五代同堂,还能记起年轻时唱的山歌。
2.中国新疆和田新疆和田于田县的拉依苏村是另一个在我国境内的世界长寿之乡。
拉依苏村有2400人,仅90岁以上的长寿老人就有16人。
肉孜老人已有110岁,身体健朗,还能干简单的农活。
