在大学英语教学中,影响学生英语学习动机的因素除了教师因素外还有学生等多因素。

一、研究背景
动机是人类学习的动力机制,是学习的基本心理因素之一,是英语学习成败的关键。
研究人类行为的心理学家们提出了各种各样的动机理论。
美国心理学家Gardener和Lambert是最有影响的动机研究专家,他们把学习动机概括为归附型动机和工具型动机两大类。
归附型动机的学习者对目的语本身和目的语文化有浓厚的兴趣,期望参与他们的社会生活,甚至成为其中一员。
工具型动机是指为了某一特殊目的而进行目的语学习。
转型期的大部分大学生只是停留在工具型动机水平上,80%以上的学生学习英语纯粹是一种“证书动机”。

学生身临其境,引发他们更大的学习兴趣,激发学习英语的动机,使其主动积极参与有意义的语言实践。
6.适当地开展竞赛。
竞赛是激发学习动机、调动自身学习积极性的有效手段。
国内外许多心理学家的实验研究证明,在竞赛过程中,学生获得自尊和自我求成的需要更加强烈。
竞赛可采取个人与个人、个人与集体竞赛相结合的形式。
例如,学生在每次单元测验、期中、期末考试成绩超过上一次时,教师要给予及时表扬;每次考试后,要要求学生自己寻找一个略高于自己的竞争对手,并将对手的名字秘密交给老师,以便到时进行鼓励和指导积极归因;在日常课堂教学活动中,可在小组之间或个人之间进行限时的竞赛,当场公布名次并奖励,以此激起学生强烈的学习动机。
7.正确的评价和适当的表扬鼓励。
采取多样化、多元化的方式对学生进行评价,避免传统的“期末一卷定成绩”的测试方法,可以起强化动机的作用。
因此,我们对学生的课堂提问、课堂活动的参与、课后作业、英语作文,甚至测验的试卷都不可只打一个分数,必须根据每个学生的答题情况、个性特点及性别差异加上适当的评语。
在教学中,我们发现,奖赏会显著提高学生的学习动机。
四、小结
较高的英语学习动机不仅是学好英语的必然要求,而且也是培养与国际接轨的高级复合型人才的需要,社会发展的需要。
是社会经济、科技发展而带来的全球联系密切发展趋势的需要,是社会对农林高校
学生在英语方面的基本素养的必然要求。
在大学生中开展动机研究无疑是一种有益的尝试。
如果能将听与说有效地相结合,以听带说、以说促听,在实践教学过程中有效地组织这一有利于培养与国际接轨的农业复合人才的听说互动教学模式,在听中说、在说中听,听说互动、相得益彰。
在培养学生基本技能的同时也训练了他们的口头交际能力。
为高校非英语专业的硕士研究生口头交际能力的培养提供了一种有益的探索。
作为高层次人才培养的高等院校、作为复合型研究生人才培养关键因素的高校英语教师应该根据教育部教学大纲(“口语教学的任务是培养英语口头表达和交往能力”《基础大纲》,1989)的规定,将教学的重点从原来的以阅读理解和写作能力为核心的传统教学法转移到以听说能力为主的英语语言综合交际能力培养的教学方法上来,以培养21世纪与国际接轨的高层次复合型人才。
