北京奥运火炬接力珠峰传递登山队队员将北京奥运会火炬、火种送上海拔８８４４．４３米的珠穆朗玛峰峰顶。
象征着光明、和平、友谊、进步、和谐的奥林匹克圣火首次在地球之巅燃起。
７年前申奥成功时，中国人向世界庄严承诺：奥运火炬接力活动将把火炬送到世界最高峰——珠穆朗玛峰。
如今，这个伟大的设想和承诺变为现实。
北京奥运会“祥云”火炬克服低温、低压、缺氧、大风等极端不利条件，在珠峰之巅漂亮地燃烧，举世为之惊叹。
在这史无前例的壮举背后，凝聚着中国航天人的智慧与辛劳。
5月8日9时17分，北京奥运火炬接力珠峰传递登山队队员将北京奥运会火炬、火种送上海拔8844．43米的珠穆朗玛峰峰顶。
北京奥运会“祥云”火炬克服低温、低压、缺氧、大风等极端不利条件，在珠峰之巅漂亮地燃烧，举世为之惊叹。
在这史无前例的壮举背后，凝聚着中国航天人的智慧与辛劳。

新华社发按照研制航天型号的模式来研制火炬２００１年７月１３日，北京申奥成功的消息从莫斯科传来，中国航天科工集团公司副总经理薛利心中便萌生了一个念头：我们航天人要为这一中华民族的百年盛事做点贡献。
“‘科技奥运’是北京奥运会的三大理念之一。
航天事业是高科技的集中体现。
因此，我们航天人一定不能缺席。
”薛利说。
申奥成功后不久，航天科工集团就开始考虑开幕式、火炬、安保、智能交通、环境清洁等一切有可能为奥运会贡献力量的方面，并在集团内部成立了一个科技奥运领导小组。
２００６年１月１７日，机会终于降临——北京奥组委正式致函航天科工集团，委托其就奥运火炬珠峰燃烧技术进行科研攻关。
航天科工集团随即成立了火炬研发部，抽调了其所属三院海鹰集团、３１所、四院航天晨光股份公司等多家单位的８０多名技术骨干参与项目攻关，并聘任中国工程院院士刘兴洲为该项目总设计师。

运动员们在圣火的注视下，奋力拼搏。
那圣火就像是给他们注入了无穷的力量，让他们不断挑战自己的极限。
我记得有个运动员，在比赛中受伤了，可是当他看到圣火的时候，咬着牙又重新站了起来，继续比赛。
您说，这圣火是不是有一种神奇的力量呢？从更大的方面来说，北京圣火也是中国走向世界的一个标志。
它向世界展示了中国的强大、包容和热情。
以前啊，很多外国人对中国的了解可能还停留在古老的长城、神秘的故宫这些方面。
但是通过北京圣火，他们看到了一个现代化的中国，一个充满活力的中国。
这圣火就像一把钥匙，打开了中国和世界交流的大门。
不过呢，也有人觉得圣火只是一种形式。
也许在某些方面，形式确实存在，但是这种形式背后的意义可太重大了。
它就像一面旗帜，让全世界的人都朝着和平、友谊、进步的方向前进。

奥运“祥云”火炬原是华帝制造 2008年08月25日 13:00 新闻晨报8月24日晚，国家体育馆，伴随着中国奥运体育代表团的辉煌战绩，北京奥运会画上了圆满的句号，奥运圣火将回归雅典继续传播全人类的体育精神。
2008年8月8日，李宁踏着稳健的步伐，手举“祥云”在鸟巢上空点燃了主火炬塔，在全世界人民共同的注视下，北京奥运会拉开了序幕。
从希腊奥林匹亚到北京国家体育馆，圣火经历了五大洲的传递，在长达四个多月的传递过程中，作为圣火的载体，祥云火炬、火种灯、圣火盆出色地完成了它们圣火传递与展示的使命。
“火炬专家”结缘奥运到底是谁制造的祥云火炬？这是一直困扰着所有人的一个迷题。
尽管之前有很多的传媒通过各种途径纷纷打听各种小道消息，有人猜测是联想制造，有人说是常州一家企业制造，还有人猜测，如此神秘和高技术含量的“产品”，恐怕制造权将花落国外，中国人将无缘火炬制造。
随着全国不少主流媒体的权威报道出炉，以上猜测均被一一否认。
一个来自珠三角的厨卫企业，同样也是奥运赞助商大家庭中的一员——中山华帝燃具股份有限公司浮出水面。
在公众的意识中，华帝只不过是奥运藏品“火舞祥云”——火炬缩小版的生产商，怎么突然间一下变成了“祥云”火炬的生产企业？这个意料之外的答案，需要从华帝与体育的深厚渊源说起。
从九运会开始，包括十运会、第八届大学生运动会等国内大型体育赛事，火炬和火种盒等周边器材均由华帝无偿研制并捐赠。
2006年4月，华帝股份与北京奥组委正式签约，成为2008年北京奥运会燃气具独家供应商，百年奥运历史上，第一次设立燃气具供应类别，华帝自然成为第一次当中的唯一。
“中国制造”创下两大纪录据了解，由于火炬样品加工难度非常大，很多新工艺是三家竞标企业从未接触过的，而且云纹外壳氧化等工序需要由专业的加工单位协助，虽然在初期并未对燃烧性能作进一步的要求，但要在28天内完成火炬竞标方案和制造出高品质的火炬样品也极具难度。
因此，参与竞标的万家乐公司在提交样品和标书时自动退出。

Beijing, the city built more than 3,000 years ago and regarded as the ancient oriental capital for over 850 years, is always radiating its charm which exists along the wide the streets and narrow lanes, between the high buildings and large mansions. Its primitive simplicity and latest modernity, its dignity and vigor is showing Beijing's wide opening-up scope, displaying the Chinese nation's progress and civilization, relating how they live actively and optimistically, enjoy their life styles and yearn for the Olympics, and presenting the Chinese people's passion of how they are longing and preparing for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Not only in Beijing, but also in Qingdao, the co-host city with a
sub-site for competition for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, people, in their own way, express their warm welcome to the Flame, with countless sails plowing through the blue sea and numerous drums sounding loudly together on sand beach.
On August 29th, Beijing shall take hold of the Olympic flag from Athens. From that moment onward, the attention of the whole world shall be focused on Beijing and its preparatory work shall be arranged in a new schedule. We will make all the preparations proceed forward to the highest standard, in the highest quality and with the highest level. We will far more widely and deeply realize the ideals of the "Green, Hi-tech, People's Olympics". We believe that, with the supports from the IOC, from the friends of other countries, from the overseas Chinese, from our Party Central Committee and State Council and from the whole Chinese people, we are sure to bring into effect the strategic blueprint of "New Beijing, Great Olympics" and we are sure to dedicate to the world this Olympic Games which perfectly embodies the Olympic ideal and spirit.
We wish the Olympic Flame to blaze forever!
