Lesson13 I Love Autumn
一、语篇研读
What： 这是第三单元第十三课，这一单元的重点是谈论家庭庆祝活动。本课围绕中西方三个节日，讨论中西方文化习俗的差异，由两份电子邮件展开教学。本课要求学生理解文章信息，既学会英语简单介绍中秋节和国庆节，简单说明加拿大感恩节的有关内容，熟练灵活的运用英语表达情意。
Why：Lesson 13授课对象是刚升入八年级的学生。在七年级已经接触了一些关于季节、节日的词，但他们仍然有很强的好奇心，探索欲望还是相当强的，且易于表现，因此上好本节课的关键是调动他们的积极性，满足他们的求知欲望，以他们的兴趣入手。
Lesson13是第三单元第一课，本单元围绕节日和庆典这一话题开展多种教学活动，给学生介绍了中秋节和感恩节，接着详细介绍了家庭聚会、购买礼物、庆祝感恩节和黎明的生日。学生在学习与节日和庆典相关内容的同时进一步扩展了有关节日和庆典的生词、习语和日常用语。
How：八年级学生已经具有一定的阅读理解能力，能在教师的引领下理解课本的语段并完成简单练习。他们能对自己感兴趣的话题作简单的表述。学生在本课之前学习过一些有关节日的知识，如MidAutumn Festival、celebrate 等等。但是对节日活动进行描述的句子学习不够系统，因此可以设置一些有关的活动项目加强训练。
二、教学目标
1.在视频播放中感知体验语篇的主题与节日和庆祝有关（MidAutumn Day
National Day moon cakes and celebration ）
2.通过问题链设置，让学生理解语篇，掌握重点单词和短语：celebrate,round,however,wonder,lunar,thanksgiving.内化知识，可以描述与节日相关的图片
3.在小组活动中，能用英语流利地表达自己所喜爱的节日。（What is your
favourite festival? When is it?How do you celebrate it?）形成小的语篇，介绍给别人。
4.通过思维导图了解中西方文化的差异，增强彼此间的沟通与友谊。
三、教学过程
1.Leadin：Play a video，Let the students feel the MidAutumn Festival
National DAY and Autumn让学生展开头脑风暴式的回答What festivals did
they celebrate ?How did they celebrate?What season is it?When is autumn?What happens in autumn?导入新课。
2.Read the new words together：提出一些相关的问题：When is MidAutumn
Festival? How is the moon that night? What food do we always eat? 根据这些问题作出相应的回答。
【设计意图】体验感知，激发学习兴趣。
【效果评价】通过观察学生头脑风暴式的回答情况，可以了解到学生的知识储备。并且通过提问一些有关中秋节的问题，观察学生的回答中涉及到的生词数量可以预测到他们生词的预习效果。
Activity1:
1. listen and read：Let the students listen to the first Email ,
read after it in a low voice.After that, read the lesson by themselves
to answer the questions.And then make the students describe the picture
of MidAutumn Day and National Day with what they have learned.
2. listen and read：Let the students listen to the second Email ,
read after it in a low voice.After that, read the lesson by themselves
to answer the questions.And then make the students describe the picture
of Thanksgiving Day with what they have learned.
3. Listen to the dialogue and tick the correct answers or pictures.【效果评价】要求学生阅读 电子邮件并且回答问题。通过读后完成回答情况，体现了获取课文重要内容和情节的一个内化过程和运用信息的表达情况。
学完语篇后进行听力，是学生知识输出的过程。可以了解学生捕捉信息的能力。
Activity2:
Work in groups to understand the meaning of the text further,and
find the key phrase.
【设计意图】体现了学生小组协作，自主学习的能力。
【效果评价】学生们在阅读的过程中，不仅获取了课文的主要信息，并完成了小任务。而且间接地掌握了阅读的方法和技巧，进而提高了同学们的阅读能力。
Activity3:
Work in groups to plete the mind map according to the clues.进一步了解文本信息，了解中西方文化的差异，增强彼此间的沟通与友谊。
【设计意图】根据思维导图复述课文内容，便于同学们更好地理解课文，回味课文内容，达到情节再现的效果。而且要求学生分小组完成，发扬小组的合作探究精神，互帮互助，共同完成学习任务。
【效果评价】通过运用思维导图复述课文部分，以及小组活动展示体现，都能不同层次、不同角度地对课前学生的预习作出大致的预测和评估。
Activity 4:Think about
让学生进一步思考Why do Li Ming and Jenny like autumn ? Why are these
reasons?体会到文本背后的意义，是热爱祖国，热爱传统文化，对周围事物怀有感恩之情，接着追问学生How did you celebrate the two festivals
during the eightday holiday 让学生学以致用，再通过Do you know any
Chinese festivals ?引导出下一个活动
【设计意图】体会到文本背后的意义，是热爱祖国，热爱传统文化，对周围事物怀有感恩之情。
【效果评价】锻炼学生思维能力。
Activity 5: Work in groups :Give a short talk to the class,the title
is my favourite festival
【设计意图】内化运用知识，让不同层次的学生学有所获。
【效果评价】小组活动展示体现，都能不同层次、不同角度地对学生的本课知识掌握作出大致的预测和评估。
情感升华：Love our family, Love our country. Say thank you for
anything we have.
作业设计
1. Remember the new words and expressions learned in this lesson（巩固性作业）
2. Finish off the exercises 1 and 2 in the workbook（拓展性作业）
3. Write about your favourite festival.（探究性作业）
