Two Words to Avoid, Two to Remember
Arthur Gordon
About the title
What do you think are the two words the author advises the reader to avoid and the two words to remember? Make a guess. SA: In text I, the two words to avoid are if only and the two to remember are next time. We may regard ―if only‖ as indicating the past and ―next time‖ the future, we all know the most important time is ―now‖, as past things could not be changed and future is based on ―now‖. Can you think of any other substitute for ―if only‖? Also we have a proverb ―don‘t cry over spilled milk‖, try to comment on the proverb, please.
