(二)课堂导学
Step 1情景导入
In section A,we have learned some description words about weather such as snowy,sunny,rainy,cloudy,windy and so on.Today we'll learn some more description words about weather.Look at the board please and read after me aloud:“warm,cool,hot,cold,humid”.Now please describe the pictures using new description words.
Model:
A:How's the weather in Picture a?
B:It's hot.
A:What's the weather like in Picture b?
B:It's humid.
环节说明:通过复习上节课描述天气的形容词,导入本节课的新单词,巩固本单元的重点句型和语法基础知识,然后让学生运用所学的词汇来描述天气,进行口语训练,提高学生的口语表达能力。

Step 2完成教材1a~1e的任务
1.让学生将图片中的天气状况与相应的单词连接起来,完成教材1a的任务。

(1分钟)
Teacher:Now open your book and turn to Page 40.Look at the words in 1a and read them aloud.Then try to match each word with one of the pictures.Write the letter of each picture next to one of the words.
2.让学生分组进行口语训练,完成1b的任务。

(1分钟)
Teacher:Read the dialogue in the speech bubbles,ask and answer about the weather in each picture with your partner.I'll ask some pairs to act out the dialogues.
Model:
A:What's the weather like in Picture a?
B:It's snowy.
A:How's the weather in Picture b?
B:It's warm.
3.认真听录音,完成1c的任务。

(3分钟)
Teacher:Now let's listen to a conversation between Mary and Eric.Listen carefully and write what Mary and Eric answer to “How's it going?” in the chart in 1c.
4.再听一遍录音,完成1d的任务。

(1分钟)
Teacher:OK.We have known Mary enjoys herself in Mexico and Eric has a good time at his birthday party.However,what are they doing?How's the weather in Mexico?Now listen again and write the answers to these two questions in the blanks in the chart.
在听力训练前,对学生进行听力技巧指导;听力训练后,可让学生根据表格内容向全班同学作一个汇报。

(这样可以培养学生的口头表达能力和写作能力)
5.讲解对话中的重点词组或句子,然后让全班学生分角色朗读,还可让若干组学生进行分角色朗读表演,完成1e的任务。

Teacher:Let's work in pairs and play a conversation between Mary and Eric.
6.小结训练。

(4分钟)
在空白处填入适当的单词补全对话。

A:Where are you from?
B:I am from England.
A:What's the weather like in England?
B:It's very nice at the moment.The weather is never too hot or too cold.
A:Oh,it's very nice.But in China it's often too cold in winter and it's too hot in summer.B:Yes,I like winter in China because I can skate on real ice in winter and I can swim in swimming pools in summer.
环节说明:通过听、说训练让学生掌握一些描述天气状况的形容词,并谈论不同天气状况下人们所正在从事的不同活动。

不仅让学生掌握听力技巧,而且培养学生的口语表达能力。

Teaching Reflection【教学反思】
本节课的教学要首先制定好教学目标,在教学过程中采用游戏、分角色扮演、小组合作等灵活多样的教学方式。

如在热身的过程中,让学生4人一组互助合作学习;在描述天气的过程中,让学生两人一组分角色扮演;在做游戏的过程中则将学生分为两大组展开竞赛,这一过程有效地落实了本课的目标并顺利地解决了本课的重难点,使学生进一步加深对天气和人文感受的理解,进而有效地激发了学生学的兴趣。
