01，die
死，死亡
凋谢，消失，消亡
Every man dies, not every man really lives.
每个人都会死去，但不是每个人都活得有价值。
He died a sudden death in a Kansas car crash in 2009.
2009年，他在堪萨斯州的一次车祸中意外去世。
When his parents died, he was placed in the custody of his aunt.
他父母去世后，他由姑妈监护。
The sound of the music died away.
音乐声渐渐消失了。
As the flames died down he felt cold air on his face.
当火焰变小熄灭时，他感到冷空气扑面而来。
02，dead
死的，失去生命的，枯萎的
死人，死者
完全地，全然地，非常，绝对
You'll marry him over my dead body!
除非我死了！否则，你休想嫁给他！
The man we thought dead walked bodily into the room.
我们以为已经死了的那个人活生生地走进了房间。
We sawed the dead branches off the tree.
我们把枯枝从树上锯下来。
I was dead drunk yesterday evening.
昨天晚上我喝得酩酊大醉。
03，deadly
(可能)致命的，致死的
极度的,十足的
It was deadly poison and if he drank it he'd probably die.
那是致命的毒药，如果他喝了可能会死。
He has become my deadly enemy.
他成了我的死对头。
The weekly meeting tends to be deadly dull.
每周的例会往往非常乏味。
04，death
死，死亡，生命的终止，死亡状态
He was stabbed to death in a fight.
他在一次搏斗中被刺死。
There is no medicine against death.
没有长生不老药。
Twenty years after the event, his death remains a mystery . 事件发生20年后，他的死仍然是个谜。
05，用法注意
这几个词在使用时要注意以下几点：
1，分清楚词性：
die是动词，现在分词dying也可以做形容词“临终的，临死的”；
dead是形容词，deadly不是它的副词形式，也是形容词；
Some think he is dead.
有人认为他死了。
death是名词。
2，die of和die from有区别
die of和die from都是“死于…”的意思，如果我们不想区别，也可以：
She died of/from hunger/cancer/a heart attack/her injuries.
她死于饥饿/癌症/心脏病/受伤。
但最好还是把它们用在不同的情况：
死于自身疾病或悲伤等最好用died of；死于其它原因可以用die from:
She died of a brain tumour.
她死于脑瘤。
He died of liver cancer.
他死于肝癌。
He was rushed to hospital but he died from his injuries.
他迅速被送到医院，但还是伤重不治。
The plants died from want of water.
这些植物因缺水而枯死了。
3，die是短暂性动词，表示持续的动作，要用be dead代替。
