Tell the students to think of

as many fruits and

vegetables as they know in

English.

Write their ideas on the

board.

Presentation

You may want to add a few

more vegetables like

carrots lettuce…

Note the pronunciation of

vegetable only has three

syllables, drop the other

syllables completely.

Tell the students to close

their books.

Write them down on the

board. Play the dialogue.

Ss listen and call out fruit or

vegetable, depending on

what it is.

Put the students into pairs

or groups. One students

calls out the name of a fruit

or vegetable an others says

it’s category.

Ask the students to think of

all the things they can find

in a supermarket.

What things do they hear in

the tape? Did they suggest

these things before?
