Earth Hour
Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million individuals and more than 2,000 businesses turned their lights off for one hour to take a stand against climate change. Only a year later and Earth Hour had become a global sustainability(持 续性) movement with more than 50 million people across 35 countries/territories participating. Global landmarks such as the Sydney Harbor Bridge, CN Tower in Toronto, Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and Rome Coliseum, all stood in darkness, as symbols of hope for a cause that grows more urgent by the hour.

Introduction
Now we are living in a dramatically changing era (年代), with rapid economic globalization, with advanced scientific technology, and also with obvious global warming. Meteorology(气象) materials have shown that the global average temperature has increased 0.48℃ than one hundred years ago. However, this warming trend is still continuing. From a report by IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), the global average temperature is most likely to increase from 1.1℃ to 6.4℃ by the end of this century.
