The country has the advantage of peace and quiet, but suffers from the disadvantage of being cut off: the city breeds a feeling of isolation, and constant noise batters the senses. 【摘要】本文评估了中山大学英语系近八年来参加全国英语专业四级和八级统测的表现 ,分析了统测的结果。
作者认为 ,这种测试提供的信息有助于改进教学 ,因而作为一种评估手段是有效的。
统测的反馈信息表明 :中山大学英语系近年来教学取得一定成绩 ,但是也存在一些问题 :一是重研究生教育轻本科教育 ;二是课程设置部分过时 ;三是某些科目 (如写作和翻译 )的师资培养滞后。
加速推行当前的教学改革是解决问题的根本出路。
