演讲摘要:
This talk mainly discusses how hyperlinks influence the ranking of webpages in a search engine.
First, two famous link analysis algorithms, PageRank and HITS, will be introduced. Then, discussions will be given in terms of their limitations and the possible improvements, and introductions will be given to some recent work on link analysis, such as topical PageRank, Level-based Link Analysis. In the meanwhile, we will also introduce how web spammers hack these link analysis algorithms to boost their websites in the ranking results of search engines. Typical spamming techniques include link exchange, link farm, etc. To detect and remove such spam from search engine index, algorithms like TrustRank and Temporal Spam Detector have been proposed, which will be introduced and commented at the end of the talk.。
