Different Opinions from Different Perspective
Several days ago, we discussed about the gradual change of the author’s realization. By analyzingit, we drew a conclusion that the reason for his different opinions was that he considered the problem from different perspective.
At first, the author thought the villagers’view that the rock was the center of the world was ridiculous, because he could make sure that they were wrong. The author held the view that the center was somewhere in New England. However,he found his opinion was as ridiculous as the villagers’, because they both regarded the places with great meaning to themselves as the center of the whole world. As a result, the author could understand their ridiculous thoughts and was aware that he didn’t have reasons to laugh at them.
Through the process we can easily see that the author’s opinion changed from laughing at the villagers’view originally to considering it reasonable. First of all, he thought the problem in an objective version. That is to say, according to the public’s view, there is no center in the whole world. Therefore, the opinion that there is a center is evidently wrong, and he laughed at them. However, he thought the problem in a subjective version later. Referring to his grandfather, he also believed in the center theory. Hence, he began to be understandable.
In fact, no matter in what situation, we need to learn to consider problems from
different perspective. Not all the things have the same appearance and connotation, and therefore, we have the wonderful world. Besides, the reason for people who are successful also is that they can consider problem from different perspective.
Examples of such phenomenon are as follows. In our infancy, we always regarded what our parents said as a kin d of oracle through kids’ view.Almost we learned everything from our parents. Later on, after we went to school, we believed what the teachers said was the complete truth of the world through teenagers’ view.We had to follow every instructions that given by our teachers because we thought it was necessary. Now, after we experienced so much and read so many books, through the view of the grown-ups, we finally realized that the hidden truth actually needs ourselves to discover. In different periods, we consider things from different perspective and we have different opinions.
Here comes to another example. Yitzhak Rabin is famous for his dedication to the peace between Israel and Palestine as the president of Israel, but he had been an uncompromising politician on this problem. What changed him was his trip to the war victims' shelters as an officer representing Israel. The pain the victims suffered forced him to think on their opponents' view, and rebuilt him as a peace caller from then on. At first, Yitzhak Rabin was established in the profits of his homeland, so he was uncompromising. Later on, he considered that problem in citizens’version, and he knew that peace was what they wanted most. Hence, he changed his style.
In all, to adapt to the fantastic world, we should learn how to consider problems from different perspective. Only in this way can we understand the truth of the world.。
