公鸡和狐狸五年级英语作文

Once upon a time, in a quiet village, lived a proud and brave rooster. Every morning, he would

greet the rising sun with his loud and cheerful crow, waking up the villagers and signaling the

start of a new day.

The villagers admired the rooster for his dedication and hard work. However, not everyone in the

forest admired him. A sly fox, who lived nearby, was jealous of the rooster's popularity and

wanted to find a way to make him look foolish.

One day, the fox approached the rooster and said with a smile, "Oh, my dear friend, I have heard

so much about your wonderful voice. It is said that your crow is the most beautiful sound in the

forest. I would love to hear it once again."

The rooster, being a proud bird, was easily flattered by the fox's words. He puffed up his chest

and said, "Of course, my friend. I will gladly share my song with you."

Just as the rooster was about to let out his loud crow, the fox quickly interrupted him and said,

"But before you do, I have a small request. Could you please crow for me just once, without

moving your wings or your feet? I want to fully appreciate the beauty of your voice."

The rooster, eager to impress the fox, agreed to the request. He took a deep breath and prepared

to crow, but as soon as he opened his mouth, he realized his mistake. Without the support of his

wings and feet, he lost his balance and fell over, making a fool of himself.

The fox, seeing the rooster's predicament, laughed heartily and said, "You see, my friend, even

your beautiful voice cannot save you from making a fool of yourself when you are overconfident."

The rooster learned a valuable lesson that day. He realized that while he had a wonderful talent,

he should not be overly proud or easily influenced by others' words. From then on, he continued

to greet the sun every morning, but with a more humble and cautious attitude.
