汽车发展到今天，已经不是单纯的运载工具。

环保、能源、安全与信息交流，已经列入现代汽车设计的要目。

然而，对于日新月异的车型技术，消费者已经开始应接不暇，尤其是对于部分技术用语及车型的英文缩写，更是一头雾水，记者在此整理了部分常见的汽车用语英文缩写，为消费者释疑。

（一）汽车技术用语的英文缩写什么是ABS？——防锁死刹车系统近年来由于消费者对安全的日愈重视，大部分的车子都已列为标准配备，采用电子机械的控制，以更快更精密控制刹车油压的收放，来达到防止轮胎锁死，确保轮胎的最大刹车及转向能力，ABS车型其正确的操作方式就是一脚踩到底，冷静地进行危险障碍物的回避，将出事率降至最低。

什么是EDS？——电子差速锁它是ABS的一种扩展功能，用于鉴别汽车的轮子是不是失去着地摩擦力，从而对汽车的加速打滑进行控制。

同普通车辆相比，带有EDS的车辆可以更好地利用地面附着力，从而提高车辆的运行性，尤其在倾斜的路面上，EDS的作用更加明显。

但它有速度限制，只有在车速低于40km／h时才会启动，主要是防止起步和低速时打滑。

什么是ESP？——电子稳定装置这个装置是由奔驰汽车公司首先应用在它的A级车上的。

ESP实际上是一种牵引力控制系统，与其他牵引力控制系统比较，ESP不但控制驱动轮，而且可控制从动轮。

如后轮驱动汽车常出现的转向过多情况，此时后轮失控而甩尾，ESP便会刹慢外侧的前轮来稳定车子；在转向过少时，为了校正循迹方向，ESP则会刹慢内后轮，从而校正行驶方向。

什么是ABD？——自动制动差速器这是制动力系统的一个新产品，它的主要作用是缩短制动距离，和ABS、EBD等配合适用。

当紧急制动时，车会向下点头，车的重量前移，而相应的车的后轮所承担的重量就会减少，严重时可以使后轮失去抓地力，这时相当于只有前轮在制动，会造成制动距离过长。
