Lesson Content

In this lesson, we learn about the four seasons: spring, summer,

fall/autumn, and winter. We also learn how to express our favorite

season and reasons why we like a particular season.

The conversation in the lesson goes as follows:

A: What’s your favorite season, Ben?

B: I like spring the best. It’s warm and sunny. I can wear my new

shorts and shoes.

A: I like summer. It’s hot and we can have fun at the beach.

B: I like fall, too. The leaves on the trees turn pretty colors.

A: And winter?

B: Winter is nice, too. We can play in the snow and skate on ice.

Vocabulary

1. season (n) - one of the four parts into which the year is divided

2. spring (n) - the first season of the year, between winter and

summer

3. summer (n) - the season between spring and autumn

4. fall/autumn (n) - the season between summer and winter, when

leaves change color and fall from trees

5. winter (n) - the season between fall/autumn and spring
