再贴现政策主要是指货币当局通过变动再贴现率来影响贷款的数量以及货币供应量的政策。
提高再贴现率,商业银行从中央银行借款的成本随之提高,它们就会相应减少贷款的数量;反之则会扩大贷款规模。
但在存在更为强劲的制约因素时,如过高的利润预期或对经营前景毫无信心时,再贴现政策的作用则极为有限。
