For example, one of the classic works of Chinese culture-the Analects, is the combination of Confucian and his students' values. Taking "Learning without thinking is labor lost" for example, Confucius tried to convince us that it is the combination of absorbing knowledge and reflecting on what you have learnt that puts you forward.Secondly, classics can guide us on our way to the future. Many virtues and values which are held in esteem in classics are still glorious nowadays. Lu xun's works are always regarded as a mirror of the society at that time, inspiring people to reflect on the sick society. Through molding the figure of AQ, he criticized the society for its cruelty, sparing no efforts to arouse people's sympathy for those in need.Nowadays, when people witness the scene where the elderly fell down in the street, the majority of them choose to be bystanders for fear that they might be cheated out of a large amount of money. Both of them have one thing in common, which is that many citizens turn deaf ears and blind eyes to others' dilemma. Only if we all show sympathy to others' mercy and hold out our hands to help people out of trouble can we make a better world. In a word, through reading classic books, we can avoid repeating the past mistakes and make contributions to the construction of our country.However, that I stand for the former's view doesn't mean I hold the view that we are supposed to live on the classics without making any progress. Never should we escape the responsibility of venturing into the new and unknown things, that is to say, it might be a good choice for us to throw new things into the concepts conveyed by classics. Because today's life is quite different from that of the past, we should act according to the situation instead of merely copying the behavior of our predecessors.Newton once put it as" If I have seen farther than other men, it is because I have stood on the shoulders of giants".Likewise, classics to us is what cornerstone is to the magnificent building. First, because of thinking, people differ from apes. The old teach the young how to live a better life, such as using fire and finding a cave.Then people keep accumulating experience and live better and better.
