一、教学目标
1. 会听、说、读、写本课时单词和短语:Canada, Toronto, Niagara Falls,
maple, syrup, polar bear, Mountie。
2. 能够了解Canada这个国家,包括它的位置、广阔的自然景观、独特的文化。
3. 学会问答有关Canada的一些问题,并能用英语描述自己喜爱的景色、物品、动物等。
二、教学重点与难点
1. 教学重点:本课时单词和短语的听、说、读、写,以及对Canada国家的了解。
2. 教学难点:英语交流能力的提升和语言表达的方法及技巧。
三、教学过程
Ⅰ. Warm-up
1. Greetings.
2. Lead-in: Show the picture of Canada and ask the students if they
have ever known about this country. Ask them what they know about Canada.
Ⅱ. Presentation
1. Show the map of Canada and teach the students how to pronounce the
name of the country.
2. Tell the students some basic knowledge about Canada:Canada is a
country in North America, Toronto is its largest city, and it has a lot
of beautiful natural scenery, such as Niagara Falls, maple trees, and
polar bears.
3. Teach the new words: Canada, Toronto, Niagara Falls, maple, syrup,
polar bear, Mountie. (先让学生听四会)
4. After teaching, ask some students to read them aloud.
Ⅲ. Practice
1. Ask the students some questions, such as: “Where is Canada?”,
“What is the name of Canada’s largest city?”, “What are some natural
beauties in Canada?”. 2. Play a game called “Find the word and match”. The teacher
pronounces the words, and the students need to find them in a word bank
and match them with the picture.
3. Divide the students into small groups. Ask them to discuss what
they think are the most impressive things about Canada and share their
opinions with the whole class.
4. Let the students describe their favorite things and draw them on
the blackboard. And then ask the students to guess what they are.
Ⅳ. Production
Ask the students to make a poster about Canada and display it on the
wall. They could include some of their favorite things from Canada, such
as beautiful scenery, special food, and lovely animals.
Ⅴ. Summary
Sum up what has been learned in class, including new words, basic
knowledge about Canada, and fun activities.
Ⅵ. Homework
1. Watch some videos of Canada and write down what they have learned.
2. Write a short paragraph about their favorite things from Canada
and share it with families.
